Template:Minigame The Whip Race is a minigame featured in Spirit Tracks.[name reference needed]

Location and Rules

The Whip Race is run by Wood. Located in the backside of Whittleton which can only be reached by using the Whip, Link can play it for 50 Rupees.[1] The object of the game is to swing from pole to pole with the help of the Whip and make it to the finish line as fast as possible.[2] As Link is making his way to the finish line, he will encounter thorn trees that will impede his way; as such, he must remove the thorns using the Whip to continue his path.

Prizes

If Link beats the current record, he will obtain a Bomb Bag upgrade. By getting to the finish line in less than 1:15, he will receive a Heart Container. Afterward, Link can win treasures depending on the time he obtains:

  • Above 1:30 - common treasure, such as a Wood Heart or a Stalfos Skull.
  • Between 1:15 and 1:30 - a medium-rare treasure, such as a Pirate Necklace or Dark Pearl Loops.
  • Between 1:05 and 1:15 - a moderately rare treasure, such as an Ancient Gold Piece, Goron Amber or Mystic Jade.
  • Under 1:05 - a rare treasure, either a Regal Ring or an Alchemy Stone. The price of the minigame is also reduced to 25 Rupees; if Link is carrying less than 25 Rupees, he will be allowed to play for free, on the condition that his time "knocks his socks off", according to Wood. However, this condition is not enforced, and unlimited free games can be played, winning many treasures, including the rarest ones.
