Order - Deku Sticks

Hey there! Good job on your Deku Sticks page update! But why did you removed the part about the upgrades that said that they can be get in any order? Right now, calling them "first upgrade" and "second upgrade" make it seem like they are ordered. Which they aren't, right? MannedTooth (talk) 04:36, 2 January 2017 (UTC)

They can be obtained in any order, but I placed them in the order they are most likely obtained, being the Business Scrub found first. - Chuck * (Talk) 05:51, 2 January 2017 (UTC)
Even though, as a neutral "encyclopedia" and not a walkthrough guide, shouldn't this be mentioned? The way I see things, it's giving false information to the reader. Let's take a speedrunner for example, adding a simple sentence saying that they can be obtained in any order may help them a lot. Right now, it's misleading. MannedTooth (talk) 06:06, 2 January 2017 (UTC)

Phoeni

First off, my apologies for the time you had to take to revert my edits. I had my reasons for doing so (even though I was wrong). So, is there anything I can do to help you clean that mess before we elaborate on this? Again, sorry. MannedTooth (talk) 05:21, 2 January 2017 (UTC)

Everything has been reverted now. Adding to what was said in the summary, there's no need to change the name of the characters in the other games when they're called ??? in-game in MM and Hand in the OoX guide. Phoebi only applies to the character in SS. - Chuck * (Talk) 05:51, 2 January 2017 (UTC)
Okay, here's my principal train of thoughts for these edits: I thought that Phoeni (or ???, whatever you want to call it/her), was the same throughout all the games it appeared, kind of like Link, Zelda and Ganondorf. I thought that in the first game, ??? was called like that because they wanted to leave some mystery to the player, but then later revealed in later games her real name, a lot like Sheik's gender/true identity.
About what you said about leaving its name to ??? because it was the name in the latest game it appeared, that sounds fine to me, except for a re-make. For the visual aspect of the thing, I can get it, but for a character's name, that sounds weird. Let's say we have a secret character named "Unknown" in a game named "Game1", years later, in "Game2", it is clearly stated that its name is "Known". When the company re-makes "Game1" as "Game1 HD", the character is once again named "Unknown", and that's just fine, because it's a re-make of the game, nothing should change in the story, only the graphics. So, "Known" would "lose" its name and become "Unknown" once again? Anyway, I love to debate about these kind of things, don't take it as an harassment, it really isn't. :) MannedTooth (talk) 06:06, 2 January 2017 (UTC)
The characters from MM and OoA are clearly not the same as the one from SS, especially since they're clearly based on a male rather than a female. This actually makes me think that maybe Phoebi should be split from the ??? page. About remakes, they are more than just the same game but with better graphics, they tend to fix mistakes and even add new characters and places, thus, they superseed the original version of the game.
And I also forgot to mention that, when doing such a big move or change, it's better to discuss it in a talk page before actually doing it. - Chuck * (Talk) 07:12, 2 January 2017 (UTC)
What makes you think it's "clearly" a male in MM and OoA? And yeah, thinking about it, a change like this could definitely be considered. MannedTooth (talk) 08:17, 2 January 2017 (UTC)
The fact that it uses the same voice clip as a male character (Mikau), but that shouldn't really matter anymore as it was confirmed to be neuter by the MM3D guide. - Chuck * (Talk) 17:47, 2 January 2017 (UTC)

Spaces and standardization

Concerning this edit, why is a change like this unneeded? This can save page's place which make the wiki and the page load faster. Also, we should have (maybe we do, I'm kind of new on the Zelda wiki) an official guideline for each kind of main pages (characters, items, etc.) saying the correct order of things etc, kind of like the skeleton of a page that we would need to fill out. Also, the infobox templates shouldn't have useless spaces for each arguments, that just adds extra weight to the wiki/page, so why? Why not change this? I've started to "standardize" all the characters, but seeing how you undid this edit, I'm not sure if I should continue anymore. MannedTooth (talk) 08:17, 2 January 2017 (UTC)

Having everything cramped makes it harder to read when editing, and such a minor thing shouldn't significantly affect the loading time of the page. We do have a guideline for each type of page, found here. - Chuck * (Talk) 17:47, 2 January 2017 (UTC)
Oh, okay! MannedTooth (talk) 20:02, 2 January 2017 (UTC)

New page

Hi, just a heads up I'm working on an article and I'm about to publish it soon. I got permission from Tony. Just letting you know ahead of time so there's no confusion as to why a whole page got created haha! Thanks! Editorguy117 (talk) 18:35, 25 February 2017 (UTC)

Cool! If you got permission for it, no need to ask twice :p - Chuck * (Talk) 18:57, 25 February 2017 (UTC)

Account merge

Hi! Think you can help me merge my account with my old one? Thanks :D Editorguy117 (talk) 00:35, 29 March 2017 (UTC)

Hi, sorry for the late reply. You should check this page to find out how to merge you account. - Chuck * (Talk) 17:59, 3 April 2017 (UTC)

Hyrule Compendium

Like what? have a seperate page saying "Hyrule Compendium (Master Mode)"? Wolfgerlion64 (talk) 15:45, 11 July 2017 (UTC)

Like I said, we need to discuss it first, but probably will be some kind of tab, like with Armors. - Chuck * (Talk) 01:19, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

Unused Content page

Sorry about the Outfit change; I had no idea there was an Unused Content page! And I've been reading this wiki for years! Anyway, I'll transfer or redo the accompanying text, unless there are certain game-disassembly terms you prefer to avoid on here? --Htwretched (talk) 17:03, 26 December 2017 (UTC)

Don't worry, most people don't know that page even exists :p that Outfit is already mentioned in the unused content page, but feel free to add anything you think is worth mentioning, just try to avoid adding anything speculative. - Chuck * (Talk) 17:57, 26 December 2017 (UTC)

Den of Trials ES-LA name

I noticed that you removed one of the two names listed for the Den of Trials in Spanish (LA). It's no problem, I'm just wondering why this is? Both names are actually used in the game, along with a 3rd variation I saw when I went to get a screenshot (http://noproblo.dayjo.org/TFH/gruta1.png / http://noproblo.dayjo.org/TFH/gruta2.png). Do you think they are typos? Or possibly limitations on the lengths of certain text strings? The name in the 2nd photo is 16 characters, which is a common limit. --Htwretched (talk) 09:39, 26 January 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for clarifying that. "Desaf" by itself isn't a word, so it seems that it was their way of abbreviating it, although it is weird since the name below it in the first image uses the full version without any problem. - Chuck * (Talk) 19:33, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
Okay, good to know. Google Translate kept auto-completing "Desaf" so it was hard to tell. I'll check the text dump to see if the full names are getting cut off, or if they're actually incomplete, since there are other typos in certain regions. --Htwretched (talk) 19:55, 26 January 2018 (UTC)

Nintendo Assets Library

Hi. I know you have responded to me before about this, but I was wondering why you cannot share original files from the Nintendo Assets Library? --Mariomadproductions (talk) 13:06, 27 January 2018 (UTC)

Hi, all files from the Assets Library are uploaded to the wiki for archiving purposes, so you can get them from here as well. If you mean the PSDs, they don't really upload them anymore, they usually just use PNG or JPG files nowadays. - Chuck * (Talk) 17:30, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
I see. But I'm also interested in non-Zelda assets, PSDs that they did upload and the original filenaming of all files. I would be very grateful if you could help me with that. --Mariomadproductions (talk) 18:57, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
I don't really have much free time anymore to check every file in the library, so I can't really help you with that, sorry. - Chuck * (Talk) 19:09, 27 January 2018 (UTC)

Hey

Thanks for providing the citation on Link's age in the Twilight Princess Prima guide. I do remember that Link was 17 according to the guide, but I don't have it anymore, so I couldn't reference it. Twilightprincessforever06 (talk) 20:39, 29 August 2018 (UTC)

Thank you for adding that missing claim :) - Chuck * (Talk) 20:46, 29 August 2018 (UTC)
You're welcome! Twilightprincessforever06 (talk) 00:13, 30 August 2018 (UTC)

Question Regarding BOTW Translations

Hello, I've been updating many of the more recent Zelda titles translation pages with translations and localizations (mostly with Korean). I was going to do this for Breath of the Wild, but I noticed that those pages are locked from editing. Could you please unlock them so I could contribute the names of several characters, items, and locations in other languages? Thank you for your time. Anidnawind (talk) 18:06, 5 October 2018 (UTC)

Hi, the translation pages are been revamped at the moment, so until that project is done, they will remain locked. However, you can always create your own sandbox (or use the ZW sandbox) to add any names you wish so they can be used later on. - Chuck * (Talk) 18:28, 5 October 2018 (UTC)
Okay, thanks! Anidnawind (talk) 18:55, 5 October 2018 (UTC)

FS TMC License?

Hi, how would you describe the game to a file with the same sprite in two games. For instance, Spiny Beetle's sprite is identical in Four Swords GBA and Minish Cap. In addition, what abbreviation would we use to mention both game initials in the filename? Cremia2000 (My talk) 17:50, 6 October 2018 (UTC)

Hey Cremia, Chuck asked me to answer this on his behalf. I'm in the middle of reworking the way we handle attribution for files, but it's not quite ready yet. Generally in principle, we just use whatever source the file was taken from for attribution (so if the Spiny Beetle sprite was taken from FS, we attribute FS and use it for both). I would go with that for the name for now.
We're discussing the use of redirects (such as File:TMC Spiny Beetle Sprite.png in that instance redirecting to File:FS Spiny Beetle Sprite.png and being used for TMC instances), but the discussion is still ongoing so we don't have a definitive answer on that. TriforceTony (talk) 18:20, 6 October 2018 (UTC)

Deletion

Hi, i know i've been evil with all the things i've tagged for deletion. There is this list of broken redirects that can also be deleted. Cremia2000 (My talk) 03:29, 13 October 2018 (UTC)

Don't worry, it's alright. For the redirects, some of them might be used eventually, so we will check them whenever we have time for it. - Chuck * (Talk) 21:02, 14 October 2018 (UTC)

Zelda Mangas

Hello! I was visiting the Majora's Mask manga page and I noticed it mentioned the Mexican version launched last year, but didn't mentioned the Brazillian version that launched in April of this year. Since i'm not familiar with this wiki and I don't want to disrupt things here, I just wanted to point out that the Zelda mangas have been recently published in Brazil. In case you need more info, all I can give is Panini's Brazil Store Page link. PuffleHandler (talk) 17:05, 15 October 2018 (UTC)

Hi, I just added all 5 Brazilian releases to their respective pages. Thanks for the heads up! - Chuck * (Talk) 18:23, 15 October 2018 (UTC)

New account

Hi! I used to be under this username, but then things went down with ZeldaWiki, and it wouldn't let me log in because I needed a Gamepedia account (which I don't have). But now I'm back (kind of), and it changed my username (since I logged in with Twitch). I keep trying to remove the info from my old userpage (because what's the point of a duplicate userpage?) and put it on my new one, but the wiki won't let me because it thinks I'm trying to negatively affect the wiki by removing info off of someone else's userspace, and it's telling me to talk to an admin. Thus, here we are. Aidanthegamer5 (talk) 19:42, 17 November 2018 (UTC)

Hi Aidan, if you contact Gamepedia Support, you can ask that they merge your old Zelda Wiki account with your current Gamepedia account. Any edits made by your old Aidanzapunk account will then be credited to your Aidanthegamer5 account and your old userpage will be moved to your current account. You can also contact them to request that they change the name of your Gamepedia account. User:Link Lab/sig 19:52, 17 November 2018 (UTC)

Gashapon question

Pardon the random non-wiki question, but I noticed you have the Phantom Hourglass gashapon figures in your collection. Is there supposed to be some way to stand up the accessories beside the characters? I got the 3 main characters, and the packaging shows the accessories standing, but mine seem to be missing something as there's just a tiny hole in the stand that they don't fit into. (shrug) Htwretched (talk) 00:19, 6 December 2018 (UTC)

Sadly, no. The only accessory that can (barely) stand in the tiny hole is the Force Gem of the Phantom. - Chuck * (Talk) 06:29, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
