Template:Place Death Mountain Path is a recurring place in The Legend of Zelda series. It is the set of tunnels leading to top of Death Mountain in both A Link to the Past and A Link Between Worlds.
Features and Overview
A Link to the Past
In A Link to the Past, Link must travel to the peak of Death Mountain in order to enter the Tower of Hera in the Light World, and Ganon's Tower and Turtle Rock in the Dark World. Death Mountain Pass is a series of tunnels and caves that Link must travel through to reach the peak.
In one cave, Link must escort the Lost Old Man through a dark cave. The Old Man is waiting inside the first dark cave, and asks Link for guidance, citing that he had lost his lamp.[1] After Link guides him through the tunnels, the Old Man gives Link the Magic Mirror.

A Link Between Worlds
Death Mountain Pass closely resembles its A Link to the Past iteration. However, there are no pitch-black caves, and the Lost Old Man no longer guides Link through the caves nor gives him the mirror; instead, he is part of a side quest where Link brings him some Milk. Link also must use his Wall Merge ability in order to solve the puzzles and traverse through the caves.

Non-Canon Appearances
A Link to the Past (Ishinomori)
In Chapter 4 of the A Link to the Past comic by Shotaro Ishinomori Link is guided to Death Mountain by Sahasrahla. There, he discovers the Dark World portal, but does not enter due to his corrupting hatred of Agahnim. Link collapses, and once he awakes, he finds himself in front of the Tower of Hera, not having traveled through the caves.
