DX

I think that its great that DX got moved here, but since it did, would it be a good idea to get rid of the info box and scale down the image? They really disrupt the flow of text.--Magnus orion 22:52, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, if you think that would look better, go ahead. --Adam 14:31, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

picture

just a nit picky detail from someone who has played this game through more times than he can remember. You don't get the picture from Mr. Write--Magnus orion 22:54, 17 March 2008 (EDT)

Did you fix it? I would like to but I've only played it up to fighting Moldorm.--Green 02:45, 18 March 2008 (EDT)

yeah I did. I also made and added the Character list just now--Magnus orion 12:33, 18 March 2008 (EDT)

Music Trivia

I've been a Zelda addict since LoZ....and I think this is a piece of trivia that should be added.

Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, was the first Legend of Zelda title to have a unique dungeon music theme for EACH dungeon. So never did the dungeon music sound the same when you went to a new one. K thx. Bai

Wart?

Wart doesn't appear in the game. I removed his reference. If someone can indeed find proof, feel free to put it back up. Darqlink51 15:49, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

He's "Mambo" here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Binks (talk) 13:47, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

DX Tips

er.. I'm not so sure on the hookshot one, but the second one can definitely be done in both games. I have a guide (which I got for christmas after beating the game >_>) which explains how to do it. The first one can only be possible in the Dx version (no level zero in the original)--Magnus orion 05:08, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

"zelda glitch city"

we all remember glitch city in pokémon. well i found one in THIS game. i got it used so i have no clue how to get there. any of you seen this?Dragonstetraforce 22:22, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

I can't say I've ever seen it myself, or even heard of it. If you could pull up some information and screenshots on it, it would make a nice addition to the glitches page. Alter  {T C B H } 00:23, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

Move DX

I'm going to formally suggest that the DX section be moved to it's own page. It has many features not found in the first game, such as the photographs and secret dungeon. It's far more than just a remake. Also, it may create some confusion with those who are less familiar with the game. Any thoughts on this?—Alter 18:53, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

No opposition from me. I say we do it.Mandi Talk 19:12, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
That was merged into the page a long time ago. Before I was really here. I'm all for splitting it back up again.Matt (Talk) 20:07, January 25, 2009 (UTC)
To be honest, it probably does deserve its own page in the same way that Master Quest has. To be honest, it seemed appropriate to merge it at the time since it was just a pitiful stub, so as long as a decent article can be made then that's fine. Adam [ talk ] 20:25, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
I agree it should be split... but not let become a stub. That's plenty of support, so go ahead alter! The page name is The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX. It's currently a redirect.- M E L C H I Z E D E K  (TALK) 22:41, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
lol I never realized that it was actually done. Looks great! I'll do my part to help with the upkeep! But another question is: What should happen to the DX section on the LA page? I seems kind of pointless to have the same information on both pages. What are the thoughts on this? Alter  {T C B H } 00:24, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

So, um. Dudes. Did we forget to do something here?Matt (Talk) 04:19, April 25, 2009 (UTC)

I believe that they did.... Alter  {T C B H } 04:38, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

And yet again we forgot about doing this. I'm bringing it up again.Matt (Talk) 20:19, August 27, 2010 (UTC)

I support the split as well, like Ocarina of Time: Master Quest, which has its own page, this should be independent as well.Steve 16:28, 27 August 2010 (EDT)
I don't care either way. Like Steven said, like the Master Quest it is independent. At the same time though the differences are pry less then the difference between OoT and OoT:MQ, so a section describing the differences would work also. Either way should work though. --MrMime 16:31, 27 August 2010 (EDT)
I'll officially split them today. This conversation stagnated and died. Especially with the release of Ocarina of Time 3D, there's really no excuse not to give remakes separate pages. — ciprianotalk 17:40, 17 December 2010 (EST)

Featured Status

You know, I'll bet this could become a featured article with -quite- a few more references. It's got a lot of high-quality images, and is detailed and lengthy. What do you think? Alter  {T C B H } 00:27, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

Landscaping?

In the section where we list the differences in the DX version, one of the items is "Some areas have had their landscaping changed between the games." Can anyone elaborate on what this means? Apart from the presence of the photo shop, I'm not aware of any changes to the map. • Pete | 18:31, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

Well, besides of the addition of the Photo Shop, there are some tiles redesigned between the normal version and DX. Here is a picture for clarity: Small Tile-difference between Link's Awakening GB & DX It may be noteworthy that the DX-Version reverts to the original tiles if played on a Super Gameboy. More official artwork

So I bought the german Official Players' Guide for Link's Awakening, and I've noticed that there's some art for some of Link's Equipment that's not on here, like the art for the Lv 1 and 2 Swords and the Mirror Shield. Here's some photos of the pages showing off the equipment: link

I don't have a way of scanning these pages, unfortunately, so does anyone here also own that guide?Jaryl (talk) 16:53, 3 December 2015 (UTC)

I think we have a couple artwork of his equipment. The magic rod and hookshot art, for example, definitely look recognizable to me. If there are a few things that are missing, it'd really help if you could point out which ones. - Midoro (T C) 17:52, 3 December 2015 (UTC)
Like, the art for both Swords and both Shields is not on here. The other ones that I don't think are on here already in those particular versions are: Roc's Feather, Power Bracelet 1 and 2, Shovel, Bow and Golden Leaf. Jaryl (talk) 20:10, 3 December 2015 (UTC)
Sorry for the belated reply. Anyway, it appears that we actually don't have the artwork of all those aforementioned items after all. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I'm afraid that we probably don't have anything on hand that could supply those images. But if you are able to contribute in some way, it would be very appreciated. Thanks for bringing this up. - Midoro (T C) 05:34, 17 December 2015 (UTC)

New Music Discovery!!!

Hey here! I'm quite hyped right now (maybe for nothing xD ) but I think I've discovered a hidden music in the game!

In fact, I was using some Gameshark code on my emulator to walk through walls. I went under the weathervane, where rests the flying rooster, and I try going through the wall in this place. And then ... surprise!

Does someone remembers listening to this music elsewhere ? In my case, I really not.

Fire  -  Luigi  00:19, 14 June 2016 (UTC)

Sorry but it's not secret music. It's the track that plays in the Cucco House (here). What happened is that your game brought up the track as a result of fooling around with it. - Midoro (T C) 00:34, 14 June 2016 (UTC)

OK, thanks you for your quick answer! Fire  -  Luigi  13:14, 14 June 2016 (UTC)

Timeline Placement

The Legend of Zelda Encyclopedia tells readers: "Attentive readers may note that the timeline shown here differs slightly from the one found in Hyrule Hystoria. The timeline can be interpreted in a number of ways, and may change depending on new discoveries that have come to light and on the players' imaginations." The Legend of Zelda Encyclopedia places Link's Awakening between A Link to the Past and the Oracle games.
