It seems silly to add an exp template for names that aren't in the game, because that's pretty much going to cover EVERYTHING in certain sections. This sort of thing is better served by a single message noting where the names are from. Anyone who's played the games prior to Ocarina knows that 99% of enemies are not named in-game, for example. And besides, unless there's actually any discrepancies there's really no point in mentioning it. Just because something is mentioned in the manual doesn't somehow make it "less canon" than in-game, indeed the opposite was often true with the older games, since the manuals could contain detail that the games did not.

:It wasn't my intention to make the manual or guides appear less canon. Yeah, it's true, I personally prefer the game text as you may know. I think that way because that's the way a game is meant to be played and experienced. The manual is nice for side-stories or checking explanations of gameplay mechanics but I really doubt most people play games while constantly checking stuff in the manual. Anyways, the reason behind this system was that the reader would instantly know where the names have been taken from. Names without the {{exp|}} are directly from the game and the other stuff is marked with the source. I did it because people tend to be suspicious over Japanese edits, which is understandable when they have no way to double check the edits. I thought it would be a nice way to define the source using this system, so everyone who wants to double check that would have an easier time doing so. I don't think it's that much of a burden to have a bunch of triangles there and with the latter games this isn't going to be that much of a problem anyways, but I can understand when people don't like it. ::I'm not keen on overusing the Exp template because it doesn't show up for people using mobile browsers. I can't even see them (the tooltips, I mean; I can still see the triforce piece) on my Xbox, in fact. ::I understand, but we are already using it alot on other pages. It's good that we take care and make the Wiki available and functional on mobile devices but most of them are so limited and different in what they can display, that we won't be able to deal with all those problems. I know that people tend to use computers less and switch to phones and other stuff but aslong those devices have so limited capabilities it is ridiculous to take over the responsibility for all our readers to use their PCs once in a while. ::On the original point, it's more to do with the fact that there are multiple sources for many things, so there's no point listing them. The enemy names for example, some are listed in the manual and the rest are listed in at least two guides I've seen with no differences between them. Discrepancies between sources are actually quite rare. And while I generally agree on your basic point, for the older games the manuals were vital and provided a ton of information that the games themselves simply were not able to due to hardware limitations. That's why everything is in katakana, for example, but most Japanese people wouldn't refer to all these things in katakana, only names and those that are based on English words. So that's where the manuals come into play. Also pretty much all the backstory is in the manuals, the in-game plot is incredibly minimal for the first two games. For later games (Ocarina onwards or so) the manuals become largely irrelevant. I think players can assume that Impa's name is taken from the manual for example, given that she's never mentioned in the game, so a tag showing the source isn't required.
