Gender?

The old woman at the stable nearby Malanya uses masculine pronouns when talking about him. Are we sure Malanya is female? Datnuttykid (talk) 22:31, 8 April 2017 (UTC)

If a character refers to Malanya as a male, then it could be assumed that he is. Do you have the quote in question, and the old woman's name? Midoro (talk) 22:50, 8 April 2017 (UTC)

Fairy?

Malanya's fountain theme incorporates the Fairy Fountain theme on top of Epona's Song, as well as appearing out of a Fairy Fountain. He also shows up for an attack in the Great Fairies's moveset in Age of Calamity. As for being called a god, a Great Fairy is called "the Goddess of Fortune". If he is a fairy, then wouldn't he also be the very first male Great Fairy?

Fairies being spirits or gods doesn't necessarily mean that a god or spirit is in turn a Fairy, that would be a false equivalence. We don't have anything that states that Malanya is a Fairy, and certainly not a Great Fairy. Creating a Champion compares Malanya to the Great Fairies (p.141), but this directly means that he is not one of them. TriforceTony (talk) 23:44, 27 February 2021 (UTC)
