Level 1 Not Just The First Dungeon[]

Level 1-9 is a term only used in certain games in the franchise, usually the classic 2D titles. It does not even refer to the very first dungeon, as in A Link to the Past, only the Dark World dungeons are listed by Level, starting with the Palace of Darkness. Hyrule Castle is NOT Level 1, nor is Inside the Deku Tree. Some dungeons are only ever referred to by Level (such as the Second Quest dungeons in the original game, or the dungeons in BS Zelda semi-sequel to ALttP), so accuracy here is important. Its basically a technical term that is only ever used to refer to eight or nine dungeons in certain games. Fizzle 06:12, 26 September 2011 (EDT)

Point taken. However, even though these dungeons are never explicitly named "Level 1", they still technically are Level 1. People could still be looking for these dungeons by searching "Level 1", so it might not be a good idea to get rid of them. Perhaps we could do both? — Hylian King [*] 07:54, 26 September 2011 (EDT)
Its difficult, because like I said, Level 1 in A Link to the Past is the Dark Palace, which is actually either the fifth, sixth or seventh depending on how you classify the three different Hyrule Castle maps. Also, Level 1 in the Second Quest of the first game has no name (at the moment, it is part of the Eagle dungeon page, but to be honest I don't think it should be, since the Second Quest dungeons don't match up to the first quest ones at all, they're all new), and Level 1-9 in the BS Zeldas have no names too, and some of them should probably have pages (InS/AST ones in particular). I figure this disambiguation page (and the other Level ones) should link to dungeons that are explicitly referred to Level 1, and maybe yes, we should have a seperate section or maybe even a seperate page for dungeons that are just the first you visit in a game. Its also important to note that the distinction of what is and isn't a dungeon seems to change depending on what game we're talking about, too, so its pretty complicated as it is, and would just simplify things to stick with the terminolgy used by the games. For example, in the Oracle of Seasons, you visit Hero's Cave first, and that is technically a dungeon, but Level 1 is Gnarled Root, which you actually visit second. As it is, for clarification, the "Level" terminology is used by the original game, A Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, the Oracle games, and the BS Zeldas. I am not sure if they are used by any other game, possibly Zelda II as well? I'd have to check the manual or guides. It does seem mostly limited to 2D games, however.
