Speculation

I'm seeing some paragraphs of a speculative nature in the main body of the article. Maybe they should be moved into a theory section or something? Ganondorfdude11 04:17, 5 May 2010 (UTC)

The entire article is laced with speculation, in fact. Because so little is revealed about the Kingdom before Link arrives, it's difficult to write a whole paragraph without mentioning what may or may not have been meant by a particular statement. I tried to keep it neutral throughout... I'm just worried about how it will look if we try to reorganize it into a theory and non-theory section, since half of the sentences that are theoretical have little to do with each other. Yeah, when there is so little known about a kingdom, the only thing left to write about is speculation. However, given that it IS speculation, I think we should still give it the theory/no theory treatment. Most of it is VERY well-written and documented. I especially like the War section, since I didn't even know some of that stuff! I think that one should be left alone. However, I think some sections such as the one where it talks about the mirror and the Stone Tower should be noticed with a theory tag. Dany36 16:16, 5 May 2010 (UTC)

Could we just tag the entire article as containing fan-made theories and speculation (to avoid cluttersome headings)? Or does that make the article look unreliable? Embyr 75 18:54, 5 May 2010 (UTC)

Great article idea by the way! =) The thing with placing the theory tag at the top of the page is that readers will assume it is ALL theory, and take none of it as fact. With a topic that has factual and speculative elements like this one, it should really be separated into theory and factual sections to make it easier on the reader to distinguish the two. — cipriano^talk 20:36, 5 May 2010 (UTC)

Might clear things up?

• the mirror shield resembles the face of the moon slightly.

• The Garo's faces are identical to the faces of the Oot skull kid, a black area with glowing eyes. Of course, this is a very common design in many worlds of fiction.

• The mirror shield may be simply a Terminian equivalent to the Hyrulian Mirror Shield, though their designs are different. Perhaps the face of the moon, the mask, and the shield are simply a motif, or maybe the face of the moon is commonly seen in Termina (and was frequently used in art) just as it appears there is a face on our moon.

• The Gerudo Symbol on the Hyrulian mirror shield and the face on the Terminian Mirror Shield both somewhat resemble moons.

• Composer Sharp may have meant that the skull kid simply tricked him into "selling his soul" because he had hoped that such would restore life to Ikana.

Hmm... Well I think the Mirror Sheild resembles the Moon only as much as any other face will. Now, the Twilight Princess Skull Kid's face? THAT resembles the Moon. I usually find that the whole "this looks like this" is pretty useless unless the resemblance is uncanny, and with their expressions and planes being so immensely different it's hard to say with certainty that they're based on the same thing.

I also believe that Sharp was saying the Skull Kid tricked him (and, subsequently, that he thrust open the doors to Stone Tower to accomplish his end of the bargain), but I'm not so sure this can be said with certainty.

As far as the other information - like that the Gerudo Symbol represents the moon, for example - it wouldn't really go with this page, since this article is specifically about Ikana Kingdom. A few good points, though I didn't think that any of the above anecdotes would add up to a theory. I personally don't see very much resemblance between TP skull kid and the moon, but I suppose that just fortifies your statement that "..the whole 'this looks like this' is pretty useless..." but not the following statement. The only reason i brought up the Mirror shield from Hyrule was to provide a possible developmental nod to their creations. However, the Gerudo symbol (I'll try not to stray away from the topic here) is a sideways-rotated Sufi symbol (sufism is a religion influenced by both Sunni and Shia Islam). I also think, however, that this conversation is going from talk about the page to talk about the subject (not acceptable at least on wiki pedia, though I'm not entirely familiar with ZWorg's policies).--Stalkid 11:36, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
