Merge with other hammers (2009)

I see no reason not to merge these Hammer pages, It even has PH in both this page and the Hammer page. It seems like it'd make more sense to just divide one article by the names. Axiomist (talk) 04:59, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, they definitely need to be merged... Even though they have different names, they pretty much serve the same purpose: to whack things. Dany36 18:49, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
All hammers should be in one page, imo. - AtrumLevis  (My Talk Page) (My Contributions) 19:02, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

Alrighty then, I'm thinking to section it off like Hammer-game-game; Magic Hammer-game-game; Megaton Hammer; SkullHammer; And later if any of these sections become large enough to stand on it's on we could split it out and use a cross reference table. I'll get right on this when I come back tonight. Axiomist (talk) 20:28, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

Aye. It needs merged. Little reason for it not be.Mandi Talk 05:11, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

Merge with other hammers (2020)

I noticed that 11 years ago, there was a discussion that talked about the pages being merged. They came to the conclusion of merging it, but never did. In the present day, are there any objections for the merge? Ello789 (talk) 17:58, 21 December 2020 (UTC)

I am in favour of merging them, as long as they differ in name only. There doesn't appear to be anything magical about the "Magic" Hammers (in canon games, at least); they function exactly the same as regular Hammers and should be merged. But I'll have to read (or ask) about Skull Hammer and whether it has any different abilities, or enough of a reason for being a skull that it merits its own page. There's also the Megaton Hammer and maybe some others? Htwretched (talk) 19:10, 21 December 2020 (UTC)
ETA: I'll do the Hammer + Magic Hammer merge "soon" and just leave the merge suggestion template up for Skull/Megaton Hammer. Htwretched (talk) 19:20, 21 December 2020 (UTC)
Okay then, I'll change the template. Ello789 (talk) 01:35, 22 December 2020 (UTC)
I looked it up and it seems all that's different about the Skull Hammer compared to other hammers is that it has more diverse combat options. Other than that, they're mostly the same. Ello789 (talk) 15:50, 22 December 2020 (UTC)
Wait, should we also consider merging this page with the Nice, Rental, & Spring-Loaded hammers? Ello789 (talk) 14:57, 22 December 2020 (UTC)
Rental Hammer and Nice Hammer are in the same game as Hammer so those pages should not be merged, as we would be writing about two different items on the same section of the same page. I would keep Spring-Loaded Hammer separate since it has more differences from the other Hammers as it launches enemies away (and also because it's only a Breath of the Wild item but that one is just my opinion). Hammer and Magic Hammer are close enough that I think that we could use Magic Hammer as an AKA. The Megaton Hammer, however, needs its own page as in Hyrule Warriors there is both the Magic Hammer and the Megaton Hammer are included in that game. The Skull Hammer (although it doesn't currently say it on the page) is also in Hyrule Warriors as an Item Card and as mentioned earlier, is in the same game as the Megaton Hammer and Magic Hammer. To sum it up, the only Hammer that doesn't have game complications and can be merged would be the Hammer and the Magic Hammer pages. If those pages were merged, it should be under the Hammer name. β€” 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐒𝐜𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧𝟏𝟎𝟎𝟎 (𝐭𝐚π₯𝐀) 05:25, 29 December 2020 (UTC)
Thank you for the summary, User:Magicmason1000! I'd like to point out that Rental Hammer (Hyrule Warriors) is not the same as Rented Hammer (A Link Between Worlds). In ALBW, though, the regular Hammer and Rented Hammer are the same item -- not just identical in function, but literally the same Hammer -- so there's no need for Rented Hammer to have its own page. It currently redirects to Ravio's Shop to highlight how it's obtained, but that redirect could be changed to Hammer. Same goes for all eight Rented items. Htwretched (talk) 00:15, 31 December 2020 (UTC)
Okay then, I'l take down the merge template. Ello789 (talk) 12:52, 4 January 2021 (UTC)
