Shae Mo'sah Shrine, designated by the Trial name Swinging Flames, is an Ancient Shrine in Breath of the Wild.

Entrance to the Shrine

The Shae Mo'sah Shrine is located on a cliff to the north of Goron City in Eldin, along the way to the Abandoned North Mine. The Shrine can be reached by taking the upward path from Bludo's house. As Link enters the Ancient Shrine, he is greeted by the Shrine's Monk, Shae Mo'sah.[1]

Themes and Navigation

The Shae Mo'sah Shrine consists of a number of connected rooms. The first room has a barred entrance to the next chamber, which is operated by a nearby Switch that must be kept pressed to open it. Directly above this room is a suspended lamp in an opening of the ceiling, which can be dropped by snapping its cable and thus burn the vines beneath it. Burning the vines will also destroy a wooden platform holding a stone barrel, which can be used to press down the Switch.

In the next room is a small area with a Treasure Chest containing a Stone Smasher. The area opens to a much larger chamber that is inhabited by a small group of Guardian Scouts. A Chest in the corner contains a Ruby. A ramp leads to the second floor where on top of the stairs is another Switch that lowers a lamp on a chain. Knocking back this lamp will set the wall's vines aflame, releasing a steel ball. On the other side of the stairs is a Chest containing ten Ice Arrows. Around the room's corner is another Switch that will open a barred door, allowing the steel ball to slip through and roll a wheel that will open another door to the next room. In this next room is another ramp leading back to the previous chamber and a Chest containing a Small Key.

The Key opens a door to the left of the stairs to another room where a Switch lies on a raised platform, which pressing will lower two lamps. Link must swing one of these lamps using Magnesis and then cut its cable to light the vines underneath, dropping another barrel needed to press down a Switch to open the final door. In this room is also the opening that drops into the first room where Link entered the Shrine.

The Monk Shae Mo'sah awaits beyond the final door, and will present Link a Spirit Orb for completing the Trial,[2] and will wish Link well before fading away.[3]
