File:File:BotW Royal Guard's Shield Icon.png.png [[|]] The Royal Guard's Series,[1] also known as the Royal Guard's Gear,[2] are items in Breath of the Wild.

Location and Uses

The Royal Guard's Series was equipment made for the Royal Guard, and can be found at Hyrule Castle. The Series is built similarly to the Royal Gear but instead features hints of Sheikah design with black metals and highlights of deep red. It has the highest attack power of all the equipment used by the Soldiers of the Kingdom of Hyrule.[2]

The Royal Guard's Series was designed and forged by the Sheikah in preparation of the foretold Great Calamity. The Series attempted to emulate the power of the Sword that Seals the Darkness, resulting in the high power that each item in the Series boasts.[3] However, as they were unable to recreate the Master Sword's design perfectly, the Royal Guard's Series is faulted with low durability, making each impractical for serious combat.[4]

In Hyrule Castle can be found two of every item in the Royal Guard's series per Blood Moon, and surrounding Hyrule Castle is one of each item in a Chest, but like all Chests they don't respawn.

Parcy, a Hylian traveler who resides at the Riverside Stable, often snuck her way into Hyrule Castle in search of the Royal Guard's Series.[5] However, she was unable to find any of the items in the Series and eventually could not resume her search due to the sheer danger that the Castle presents.[5] If Link speaks to her, she will task him with the Side Quest, "The Royal Guard's Gear".[6] As part of this Quest, Link is asked to infiltrate Hyrule Castle and retrieve any item within the Royal Guard's Series and show it to Parcy. If Link succeeds, she will reward him with a Gold Rupee, completing the Quest.[7][8][9] At any point after this, Link can show an item in the Royal Guard's Series to Parcy and trade it with her in exchange for a Gem.[10][11][12][13] Upon her receiving one of every piece of Royal Guard Weaponry, she will consistently offer one Ruby per item.

Following the second Great Calamity, the Royal Guard's Series was succeeded by the Ancient Soldier Gear.
