Template:Object Mailboxes,[1][2] also known as Postboxes,[3] are a recurring object in The Legend of Zelda series.
Locations and Uses
In Majora's Mask, Link can find Mailboxes scattered around Clock Town. He can use the Mailboxes to send letters such as the Letter to Kafei or the Special Delivery to Mama. He can also get a Piece of Heart from one of them while wearing the Postman's Hat.
In The Wind Waker, Link also can use Postboxes to send letters, but this time he needs to pay Rupees to get it sent. The price to pay is higher the farther he is from Dragon Roost Island, and cheaper the closer. Link can also receive letters from wiggling Postboxes. Link can receive different items from Postboxes, such as Pieces of Heart, Rupees, and Charts.
A Mailbox appears in The Minish Cap on the roof of the Post Office, but cannot be used, as the roof is inaccessible.
Mailboxes in Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks are very similar in appearance to their The Wind Waker counterparts, even including the wiggling they do when new mail arrives.[4] In Phantom Hourglass, Link can only send Prize Postcards received from the Man of Smiles. Also, the Postman himself delivers any letter to Link, although he only reads them, as he never actually gives Link the mail. In Spirit Tracks, the Postman once again just delivers any letter to Link.
