Laruta is a character in Breath of the Wild.[2]
Biography
Laruta is a Zora child who can be found in Zora's Domain. For most of the day, spends her time with Tona and Tula outside of the Sleeping Chamber, where they talk about Sidon.[3] Starting at 4:00 PM, she begins to run around the entrance to the Throne Room while singing the "Champion Festival Song."[4][5][6] At night, she sleeps in one of the Chamber's pools.[7][8]
When Link first speaks to Laruta, she sings part of the "Champion Festival Song."[9][10] Noticing Link, Laruta asks who he is.[11] If Link responds that he is a Hylian, Laruta will become excited.[12] If Link claims to be a swordsman, will be impressed bt him.[13] Despite how he responds, Laruta still believes that Sidon is much cooler.[14]
The next time Link approaches Laruta, she will introduce herself and ask if he wants to talk.[15][16] If Link asks about the "Champion Festival Song," Laruta explains that she loves to sing, especially the song from the Champion Festival.[17] She then asks if Link wants to hear it.[18] If Link agrees to listen, Laruta will recite the song for him.[19] If Link declines her offer, Laruta will be upset.[20] Next, if Link asks about Prince Sidon, Laruta claims that he is handsome and what every girl dreams of.[1] When Link leaves their conversation, Laruta says goodbye to him.[21]
Laruta is among the Zora present when King Dorephan thanks Link for appeasing Divine Beast Vah Ruta. Afterwards, she can be found standing in front of Mipha's Statue in the Zora's Domain Square. When spoken to, she will start humming part of the "Champion Festival Song."[22] However, she stops when she recognizes Link as the Hylian who helped Sidon, calling him handsome.[23] Although, she believes that Sidon is even more handsome.[24] Due to Link's appearance, Laruta decides to keep speaking with him..[25] If Link once again asks about the "Champion Festival Song," Laruta will respond the same as before, including singing the song for him.
When she finishes singing, Laruta states that she does not understand the meaning of the song, even though she plans on singing it at the next Champion Festival.[26] She explains that Trello is in charge of organizing the Festival, but he has not started preparing yet.[27] Laruta wonders what is wrong with him, theorizing that he forgot this was his responsibility.[28] Once she finishes speaking, "The Ceremonial Song" Shrine Quest will begin.
If Link asks Laruta about the "Champion Festival Song" after completing the Shrine Quest, Laruta will yet again remark that Trello is in charge of the event.[29] She has heard that Dento is going to create a replica of the Lightscale Trident that was used by Mipha.[30]

Laruta is named after Laruto, the Zora Sage from The Wind Waker.
