Deep Woods is a location in Faron Woods featured in Skyward Sword. Considered to be the deeper and more dangerous part of the woods, it is accessible once Link has obtained the Slingshot from the Kikwi Elder, Bucha. It contains the first dungeon of the game, the Skyview Temple.
Features
The Deep Woods sits at the heart of the Faron Woods. It becomes accessible once Link manages to locate all of the missing Kikwis for the Kikwi Elder, Bucha, and is rewarded with the Slingshot. It consists of a small, branching path alongside a large canyon. Many tightropes, acting as bridges across sections of the canyon to other parts of the woods, lead to shortcuts and treasure. Remains of ancient architecture are spread throughout the forest. The Deep Woods contain Link's first of many interactions with a Goddess Cube,[1] which Gorko the Goron has been investigating as part of his research.
The first dungeon of the game, the Skyview Temple, is located inside the Deep Woods, and Link returns here multiple times. Link's initial reasons for visiting are to search for Zelda and recover the Ruby Tablet to reveal another rift in the Sky. The second time Link visits the temple, now inhabited by stronger enemies, is to retrieve Sacred Water from the Skyview Spring to heal the wounds of Faron, the Water Dragon.
