Darunia Lake is a location in Breath of the Wild.[1]

Features and Overview[]

Darunia Lake is a large body of lava in northwestern Eldin Canyon. The Lake is an extension of Lake Darman to the east, which flows from Death Mountain's lava moat. Darunia Lake itself flows into the Golow River south, which further extends to the Goronbi River and finally Goronbi Lake. Darunia Lake is a significant part of the Abandoned North Mine, which forms a large part of its southern shore and several scattered islands over the Lake. The Isle of Rabac is also an important landmark of the Lake, and sits close to its northern shore. This island can be reached via a mine cart rail that curves over Lake Darman from the Abandoned North Mine's shore.

An Igneo Talus is buried in the Lake's western shore. This Igneo Talus is involved in the Side Quest "The Road to Respect", and its defeat is crucial to fulfilling Fugo's request.[2]

Nomenclature[]

Darunia Lake derives its name from Darunia, the leader of the Gorons from Ocarina of Time.
