Template:Enemy Baby Gohmas,[1] also known as Gohma Larvae,[2] are recurring enemies in The Legend of Zelda series.

Characteristics

Ocarina of Time

In Ocarina of Time, Gohma Larvae are first found hatching from eggs which drop from the ceiling Inside the Deku Tree. At the end of the dungeon, Gohma will hatch more to distract and damage Link. Gohma Larvae also appear more frequently in Master Quest, where they appear in Dodongo's Cavern as well. The Larva's single eye will turn red as it prepares to pounce.[2] Hitting it once will cause it to cry and run away for a short distance, with the second hit defeating it.

The eggs from which the Gohma Larvae hatch, known as Gohma Eggs,[3] inflict damage upon contact. They can be destroyed before they hatch with a single hit from anything.

Oracle of Seasons

In Oracle of Seasons, Gohma Larvae only appear in the Dancing Dragon Dungeon during Gohma's boss fight. Once Link destroys Gohma's claw, she will occasionally fire them at him. They can be defeated with the Sword.

Twilight Princess

In Twilight Princess, Baby Gohmas appear in the Temple of Time. These spiders appear as small round bodies with tiny protruding legs and a single eye on the front. They are seen in parts of the Temple of Time and travel in huge swarms. They tend to run away from Link when he gets close to them. If L-Targeting is used to target a single one, the other ones will attack from behind. Once Link obtains the Dominion Rod, he can use the statues to defeat them more easily. During the battle with Armogohma, they hatch from Gohma Eggs. They also behave differently, as instead of running away, they attempt to swarm Link as Armogohma charges its laser-beam attack. They also try to protect Armogohma's eye when its body is destroyed.

Grown up versions of Baby Gohmas, known as Young Gohmas,[4] also appear in the Temple of Time. They leap towards Link trying to bite him with their pincers. They can be defeated with the Sword or with the Bow from afar.
