Wiki Has been Upgraded (July 16, 2005)
The Wiki has been upgraded from version 1.4.2 to 1.4.6. This is the latest stable release of the WikiMedia software. There should be near no change from a user point of view. Everything has gone seemingly smoothly, but feel free to report bugs if you find them.
- Other things fixed:
- Image-upload problem has been fixed. You should now be able to upload images without getting errors.

Wiki News System in Place (July 16, 2005)
A new Wiki news system has been put in place on the main page. It is incredibly similar, as you may notice, to the main site news system. Users will be allowed to leave comments in specific articles made for news. A new category has been created for news as well.
The News category is a PROTECTED category. All news articles will be blocked from edit by normal users. You are, however, allowed to comment on the articles in the Discussion tab. In fact, it is encouraged that you do it! The more talk, the better.
This new news system will also be used to things like Behind the Rupees, Intarweb Moments, general Zelda news and sitely things. It will also contain things you do not see on the main site, things that pertain to the Wiki only. --Jason 08:59, 16 Jul 2005 (CDT)
Release Date For TP (July 19, 2005)
Word on IGN states that Amazon is showing a release date for Twilight Princess on its pages. Could it be the true release date at last?
If you go to the Amazon.com Twilight Princess page, you might be surprised to find that they have a release date listed to the game. It tells us November 14th... but could it be true?
Nintendo has not confirmed this, and has not given any sort of information as to a solid release date on their site. However, as IGN states, the release date seems logical in that it would pit the release of the XBox 360 against Twilight Princess; a strategy that Microsoft is also using to combat the PS3 on its launch date with Halo 3.
You can view the source article from IGN here. You can also view the news equivalent of this one on the main site. --Jason 21:05, 19 Jul 2005 (CDT)
Twilight Princess Delayed (Aug 17, 2005)
Is a set back always a bad thing? Can there be some positive light that shines here? No matter how bad we wanted to see TP in 2005, it is going to be delayed until the second quarter of 2006 at the very least.
Twilight Princess development team requests extra time to make it a better game.
Perrin Kaplan, Nintendo's VP of Marketing and Corporate Affairs, sent out an email to the press stating: "After much discussion, the Zelda development team has requested extra time to add new levels, more depth and even higher quality to Zelda: Twilight Princess. Consequently, we're announcing a new global launch in 2006, after the conclusion of this fiscal year (March 31). We'll provide a specific date at a later point in time. While this may come as a disappointment to many eager fans, it will absolutely enrich the game and make it a multi-million seller."

New Screenshots for TP (Aug 17, 2005)
Okay, so we haven't done exceptional with recent screenshot releases. This will make up for that, hopefully.
Yesterday, seven new Twilight Princess screenshots were released, and I must say that they are quite stunning (if not a tad creepy in one of them). For all looking forward to ZU grabbing these and loading them onto the gallery, the wait is over. You can view all seven of these screenshots in the TP Normal Screenshot section of the Media Gallery. Not only do they give a great look at what a large town would look like, it also shows how realistic and vibrant some of the environments can be, i.e. Link swimming in what appears to be a coral reef.

It's about time! Thanks to everyone, we've hit 1000 articles and 250 users - proving that the ZUclopedia is the largest and greatest Zelda encyclopedia on the net!
Just a big thanks to everyone, and bigger hopes that the Encyclopedia will continue to expand and become more active every day in the future. Congratulations and thank you once again, because you guys built this encyclopedia, not me! --Jason 19:36, 9 Dec 2005 (GMT)
A-Hunting We Will Go (December 25, 2005)
The ZU Wiki is on a search for new faces to mod its informative walls.
We are in the process of looking for three new Wiki Moderators. However, there are a lot of people, and probably more people than we can see who are willing to take the job. So now, for all the loyal wiki-goers, this job is up for applying to.
If you would like to apply to be a Wiki Moderator, please send an email to Jason explaining why you want the job, and a brief description of your knowledge about how to use the Wiki (this includes simple code tidbits - it's always good to know that the Wiki Mods know how to use the Wiki). You can also put in anything else you think would increase your credibility. After that, simply sit back and wait for the next Wiki newspost, in which I'll announce the three new sysops.
If you are not serious about the job, please do not apply. We are looking for users who will be dedictaed to cleaning up the Wiki and interested in helping it grow. The deadline for applying is January 10th, 2006. Please, if you want the job, make an effort to apply BEFORE that date. After the deadline, I will not be looking at any more applications. Good luck to everyone who would like the job!
On another note, we've added a spiffy new logo to the Wiki. A new version of the old Z-Sphere adorns it, as well as the new note that we are finally a project of ZELDA data. :) --Jason 17:19, 25 Dec 2005 (GMT)
MediaWiki 1.5.4 (December 25, 2005)
We are now running Wikimedia v1.5.4. If there are any problems, please post them in the discussion of this news article. Expect the side menu to be put back into place as it was. Also expect a link to file uploading to reappear.
EDIT: File uploading now works. The Navigation menu is also back up to speed, and with a new Uncategorized Pages link for quick sorting of any uncategorized wiki article.
