Image(s) uploaded

Hi! Thank you for the new image(s) you recently uploaded; the wiki appreciates your contributions! We've recently introduced a policy of crediting the original source of any images used here, so we ask that you please take a moment to let everyone know where your images came from using the various templates here. For more information, see this explanation, and any questions you may have will be answered by the staff here. Thanks for your help!User:Matt/sig 05:28, June 27, 2008 (UTC)

Hello

Zwlogo2dsmall.png
Hi there, and welcome to Zelda Wiki.org! You can see the Community here, have discussions and get help with problems here, and see solved problems here. We hope you enjoy the wiki. Thanks!! β€”Seablue254 (talk)

Multiple edits

Hello! I noticed you've been making a lot of edits to the same page over a short time. Doing this puts a large strain on our server and clogs up the recent changes. So instead of saving a lot, use the "show preview" button next to the "save page" button. It'll allow you to view your edit for any mistakes so you don't have to make a lot of fixing edits or additional ones! :) β€”Embyr 75  --Talk-- 18:23, 10 December 2011 (EST)

Images! :D

Hullo, Kidbuu4ever! Just wanted to thank you for the images you recently uploaded...they have some really great quality! :D Keep up the great work! :] Dany36 20:55, 17 December 2011 (EST)

Thanks, i'm happy to help out :y Kidbuu4ever 20:58, 17 December 2011 (EST)

Thanks to you, the wiki looks much prettier! I just have one minor request: can you please use lower case extensions? For example, use "png" instead of "PNG". It's actually one of our policies/standards. β€” Abdullah [T] [C] [S]  01:45, 18 December 2011 (EST)

Ah yeah, it seems it reverts to the uppercase when I upload multiple images at once. I'll be sure to watch for that, thanks Kidbuu4ever 10:41, 18 December 2011 (EST)

Agreed your doing great at uploading images something I stink at hey can you somehow make your Dark Lizalfos image transparent as a reupload while keeping the other one in the gallery? XXSuperXXNintendoXx 14:44, 18 December 2011 (EST)

Sure i'll try and get to that as soon as I can Kidbuu4ever 14:47, 18 December 2011 (EST)

Ok thanks :) --XXSuperXXNintendoXx 15:29, 18 December 2011 (EST)

Here you are.

DarkLizalfosTransparent.png

Sorry for quality, did the best I could. Enjoy! Kidbuu4ever 18:40, 18 December 2011 (EST)

Hey man thanks, and dude its fine your probably the best dude or dudette here that can upload images like this fast and with good quality here, I might add it as a pic in the article cause msot of the Lizalfos pics are transparent there :) XXSuperXXNintendoXx 18:43, 18 December 2011 (EST)

Alright cool, thanks I enjoy helping out. And yeah i'm a guy lol Kidbuu4ever 18:48, 18 December 2011 (EST)

Phoeni

On the ??? article, you renamed the hand in Skyward Sword to "Phoeni". I want to ask if you confirmed this in-game. If you can, please post Fi's comments about her. That would be really helpful. :) β€” Abdullah [T] [C] [S]  15:53, 18 December 2011 (EST)

Even though I'm not Kidbuu Phoeni is the name of hand saw it in youtube videos XXSuperXXNintendoXx 16:01, 18 December 2011 (EST)

I've seen numerous sources indicate that her name is Phoeni but i'll be sure to find Fii's comment on her if there was a point in-game at which she was able to Kidbuu4ever 16:04, 18 December 2011 (EST)

Probably at night while she stroking Calwin if you picked that option XXSuperXXNintendoXx 16:05, 18 December 2011 (EST)

Last I checked I believe that only scanned Cawlin but i'll check again when i'm able to Kidbuu4ever 16:11, 18 December 2011 (EST)

"Phoeni" doesn't show up in the text dumps and I don't recall ever seeing that name when called on Fi. In fact, this is what Fi says:
  • This is the hand of a ghost. The ghost's original name is unknown. Judging from its appearance, I calculate a 90% chance it belonged to a young girl. Over 80% of ghosts are said to harbor some kind of unfulfilled desire. I suggest you cease being scared and speak to her.
If it's not in the text dump, I can't imagine it would be anywhere else. If you could post a YouTube link proving it, that'd be nice. - TonyT S C 17:32, 18 December 2011 (EST)

I might be incorrect then, I have seen many people call her Phoeni but none in-game. Might have been a fan given name that was mistaken for official. Sorry for the confusion! Kidbuu4ever 17:36, 18 December 2011 (EST)

Since most Skyloft residents are named after birds could Phoeni be named after the Phoniex???????? (Maybe they gave her that name cause of that)XXSuperXXNintendoXx 17:40, 18 December 2011 (EST)

@Kidbuu: Okay, then. :) Glad we could clear that up. - TonyT S C 17:51, 18 December 2011 (EST)

Superseding images

Hey there!

Just dropping in to tell you that when you upload new images that replace old ones, you should be marking the old ones for deletion using the Imdel template. Just go to the page of the file that is outdated and insert this:

{{Imdel|sup|name of the file here}}

Doing so adds the image to this category, which an admin will occasionally sweep through. I figured you should know this since uploading awesome images seems to be your specialty. Also, if you do it, myself or someone else doesn't have to do it for you. ;)

You can learn more about the Imdel template by clicking the link I mentioned earlier.

See you around! β€” Hylian King [*] 19:20, 18 December 2011 (EST)

Ah alright, i'll be sure to remember that, thank you! Kidbuu4ever 19:23, 18 December 2011 (EST)

Some Requests

Hello, I still see your doing an outstanding job at helping the Wiki get all the images in high-quality for SS. We still need images for the following:

Lanayru Caves Pirate Stronghold

Also I would want to see if you can help this Wiki get more images of OOT 3D this is due to many of places, enemies, and characters recieving quite drastic changes in their look such as the Dodongo, and I think it would be great if we showcase these images. They have been hard to find and I wanted to see if you were up to the challenge. So just reply if you want to and we can get into more detail later XXSuperXXNintendoXx 16:10, 22 December 2011 (EST)

I'll attempt to try and get those later on when I get a chance, thanks for the heads up! Kidbuu4ever 16:38, 22 December 2011 (EST)

Welcome back!

Also, one little thing: make sure to upload with lowercase file extensions (.png instead of .PNG) as its part of our policy. If the file you're uploading has an uppercase file extension you can change it to lowercase in the "destination filename" field of the upload form.

But yeah, it's good to see you back here once again! Hope you stick around. :) β€” Hylian King [*] 20:29, 28 July 2013 (UTC)

Thanks, I'll be doing what I can from time to time Kidbuu4ever

Just a friendly reminder to please keep those file extensions lowercase, as per policy. It's important that all our files remain consistent.
Also, I'm afraid this image was lost due to a site error. Would you be able to upload it again? Sorry for the inconvenience.
Never mind! Justin fixed it. β€” Hylian King [*] 22:43, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

Ah alright good, I was worried I had deleted it lol. Thanks! Kidbuu4ever (talk) 23:39, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

WHOA!

Were'd you get all that awesome TWW artwork? β€” Hylian King [*] 14:34, 30 August 2013 (UTC)

Actually it's funny, I just happened to find a plethora of new WWHD artwork on GoNintendo's Flickr by accident when I was searching for something. http://www.flickr.com/photos/25792657@N00/ -- Kidbuu4ever (talk) 14:38, 30 August 2013 (UTC)

I see. Very nice! Thanks for taking the time to upload them to the wiki. :) β€” Hylian King [*] 14:41, 30 August 2013 (UTC)
No problem, still got a lot to go :y -- Kidbuu4ever (talk) 14:42, 30 August 2013 (UTC)
Dude, Thanks so much for this! I thought I was the only one who noticed all the new art (I uploaded the Deluxe Pictobox art in hope someone else would see the link and start on the rest... I had to go to bed!). I'm totally going to help make all the backgrounds transparent! β€”SuperSonicConzor (talk) 15:25, 30 August 2013 (UTC)
Well, looks like that's about all of them, huh? Thanks again!
In the future, though, if you want to add a bunch of images to a page (such as the Image Requests page), it would be appreciated if you could do it all in one go, as opposed to adding a few at a time.
Keep up the good work! β€” Hylian King [*] 12:42, 31 August 2013 (UTC)
Thanks, but I'm far from done! I haven't even gotten to the new item artwork, hope I can get it up soon! -- Kidbuu4ever (talk) 21:32, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
The artwork is indeed awesome, so thanks for uploading it! However, could you upload the artwork separately from the renders? The file I uploaded here is how the Treasure Chart looks in-game, so the artwork would have to be uploaded as a separate file. I went ahead and did that for the fire and ice arrows, too (although clearing the cache didn't work so it still shows the artwork for me :P). I'll go ahead and try to re-upload the artworks you overwrote the renders with as a separate file (for example, all of the Decorations) to make the distinction clear between what is artwork and what is a render. Thanks again! --Dany36 (talk) 14:52, 7 September 2013 (UTC)
Ah yes, I understand I'm sorry. I'll take better care to distinguish those in the future -- Kidbuu4ever (talk) 18:49, 7 September 2013 (UTC)

Just a little update

So I investigated the 503 errors and discovered that the root of the problem was the image on the reorg template. I don't understand why it suddenly began causing problems, but perhaps due to the recent update, the image converter could no longer handle animated gifs properly. I've been forced to delete the image because it was really causing massive server disruptions and preventing people from viewing the site. The persistent problems should be over now, but if you find it happening again, please notify me immediately. If you can't get onto ZW to send me a talk page message, my email address is jfolvarcik[at]gmail[dot]com. Thanks again for bringing that to my attention. That was a pretty major issue.User:Justin/sig 06:49, 13 September 2013 (UTC)

Ah wow, I wasn't aware it was that serious. Glad I caught it when I did, I'll keep an eye out for more issues when I can for you since I spend alot of time on different pages. Is the image safe to be reuploaded now? -- Kidbuu4ever (talk) 07:15, 13 September 2013 (UTC)
If you do want to reupload it, I'd suggest you:
  • Choose a different filename
  • Tell me the filename you're choosing ahead of time in case the problem repeats itself
I had to use the bot to remotely delete the file because I couldn't even access the page to delete it myself. And if it causes the problems again, I need to know right away to prevent further downtime.User:Justin/sig 07:27, 13 September 2013 (UTC)
Alright I understand, I'll try uploading it tomorrow and notifying you of it's new name. Thank you for being so helpful, I appreciate it! -- Kidbuu4ever (talk) 07:31, 13 September 2013 (UTC)
Great! I'll try to be online when you do. Just be sure that I am, because I don't think anyone else knows how to operate the bot via command line in case of another outage.User:Justin/sig 07:43, 13 September 2013 (UTC)

File Loss

Hey,

In case you haven't seen the announcement, we had to restore to a backup today. It only covered up until September 11th, though. I'm sorry to say all your uploads since then are gone. :(

Do you still have them on your computer? β€” Hylian King [*] 15:53, 21 September 2013 (UTC)

Gah, yeah I do have most of them, though I might not be able to get to them this week with it being on a different computer. Is there perhaps a list of what was lost so I can know what to reupload? -- Kidbuu4ever (talk) 16:42, 24 September 2013 (UTC)
I wish there was. I MAY have been able to restore the images up through the 20th, but I'm not sure if they're working properly. Server mumbo jumbo and all that. Sorry bout the problems... It was really all my fault that it happened.User:Justin/sig 16:57, 24 September 2013 (UTC)
Ah, it's fine, at least I still have the images. I'll cross check the ones I have with those that were uploaded. At least you solved a big issue, that's much more important! -- Kidbuu4ever (talk) 17:03, 24 September 2013 (UTC)

Great Work

Man, I seriously love you for that Shadow Bulblin pic! It took me ages to get a decent view of the clubber and I never managed to get a good one with the archer! Really awesome job you're doing! Keep it up! SkullJ (talk) 23:08, 15 October 2013 (UTC)

Ah thanks! Yeah finding a Shadow Bulblin Archer that was idle took some searching, not many you can see before they see you, camera hack or not. -- Kidbuu4ever (talk) 22:19, 17 October 2013 (UTC)

Autopatrol

Hey Kidbuu,

Let me be the first to congratulate you on your promotion to autopatrol. Congrats, dude! Your edits have not needed checking for as long as I can remember, so this was definitely due.

Congrats on all the work you've done for the wiki thus far. Hope you still have lots of gas in the tank; you've slain FileGame but the Copyright template ain't dead yet. And don't get me started on all the low-quality images we still have. :P β€” Hylian King [*] 02:12, 16 October 2013 (UTC)

Oh wow, I appreciate the promotion! I'll definitely keep up my work, I doubt I'll run out of things I can help with anytime soon. I'll be sure to keep on the lookout for low-quality images, a lot of them have been properly categorized recently so it should be easier to spot them now. -- Kidbuu4ever (talk) 22:19, 17 October 2013 (UTC)
Awesome! By the way, I just saw your post on Justin's talk page. Justin has had to be away from the wiki recently, so allow me to fill in.
There's about 500 files left that don't have FileInfo yet, out of the ~16,650 on the wiki. These 500 files include: Files that use the Fan art template, Category:Website images (files that use Template:Website), and obviously what's left of the Copyrighted images. "Website" is not an option for FileInfo, so it has to be replaced with one of these, depending on what website the screenshot is from. If you're not sure just leave the licensing blank, no worries.
After that there's another 100+ miscellaneous images which I put into a list in my sandbox. The list is a bit faulty but it should do the trick.
And that should be it! β€” Hylian King [*] 01:44, 19 October 2013 (UTC)
Thanks, Caleb. It's true; my activity's been sporadic as of late. There's a lot going on IRL, and I've been under a ton of stress and haven't had much time for this place. I'm hoping things will cool off, soon, but it's not looking likely.
That aside, congratulations, Kidbuu. You deserve it for sure. Now we won't have to patrol a ton of already high quality edits. :PUser:Justin/sig 14:02, 19 October 2013 (UTC)

Empty Sections

When leaving empty or incomplete sections, please place {{Sectstub}} at the beginning of the section. This notifies other editors that work needs to be done on the page. Instead of leaving an empty gallery section, you can place {{Images}} at the top of the page. Template:Update is another useful notification template around this time. There's also Template:Stub for articles that are generally very short and incomplete.

Also, Zelda Wiki maintains an in-universe writing style, so please avoid referring to players directly if you can help it. That is, say "Link" instead of "you" or "the player."

That said, it's good to see you taking time away from images to do some writing. Keep it up! β€” Hylian King [*] 08:04, 26 November 2013 (UTC)

I'll try and remember that in the future, thanks! Writing isn't always my strong suit but I know we need all we can for A Link Between Worlds right now.
Oh and by the way, I was on an image talk for ALBW Family.png and I was wondering what the policy is for images that have been split up into seperate files but kept the original group file on the site. I see alot of examples of those and I wanted to know if that's something that needs to be found and put up for deletion when I find them. -- Bwar (talk) 08:24, 26 November 2013 (UTC)
There's no policy for that. I would say it depends. Sometimes it's good to have the images both grouped and separate, sometimes there's no point. This is a good example of images that are useful as a group, but also need to be separate. This I would say is a situation where there's really no point in separating them. β€” Hylian King [*] 09:30, 26 November 2013 (UTC)

Ravio usages

Thank you so much for getting those!KrytenKoro (talk) 20:02, 23 December 2013 (UTC)

No problem! Just saw them on the Japanese site and ripped them. -- Bwar (talk) 07:17, 24 December 2013 (UTC)

Hyrule Warriors Images

Hey, I really would like to thank you for uploading so many images from HW. I wold just like to as one thing of you. Currently, your naming the images them like this (File:AncientSpinnerIconHW.png), but the naming scheme we're using for these types of images is (File:HW Ancient Spinner Icon.png). If you could from now on upload your images like this, I'd really appreciate it. User:WilliamLC/sig 17:00, 27 November 2014 (UTC)

Oh, didn't know were doing it like that now, is it a newer sorting method for filenames were using? I'll be sure to try and upload my images in that format from now on, thanks for the heads up! Bwar (talk) 10:31, 29 November 2014 (UTC)
Do you think you would be able to get the Potion and Field Item images?KrytenKoro (talk) 16:32, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
Already on the field items actually, potions might take a bit because it requires me to start a new save file - Bwar (talk) 18:55, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
Seriously, your image work is always amazing...teach me thy ways (those new HW item icons are too good!). =[ Keep up the awesome job and thanks for helping out!!! :) --Dany36 (talk) 03:15, 11 December 2014 (UTC)
Thanks, I appreciate it! I honestly probably spend way more time on getting certain images than I should. One of the best things you can do for Hyrule Warriors is to set up your TV options in the Wii U settings to the highest quality you can and then post a live screenshot from in-game to an image uploading site directly to avoid the Miiverse scaling and image deterioration. - Bwar (talk) 21:25, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
I don't have HDTV, and don't know how to upload a screenshot except from Miiverse, so...this is the best I can do. Does it help?KrytenKoro (talk) 21:07, 18 December 2014 (UTC)
Also this.KrytenKoro (talk) 19:37, 14 January 2015 (UTC)
I don't believe an HDTV is required since I don't even use my TV to play the Wii U and I can still apply the settings. Try setting it to the highest quality setting for both HDMI and cord input and see which one works. As for the uploading directly through the internet browser after pressing the home button, I would suggest Imageshack as it has a less busy interface on the Wii U browser than some other image uploading sites. You should also always remember to use the top screen rather than the bottom as it is the one that gives the high quality screenshots - Bwar (talk) 19:15, 20 January 2015 (UTC)

MM Artwork

Sorry for not notifying you sooner, but I have the original versions of the images with the background layer removed. You don't need to add transparency to them. Thanks for helping though and sorry again :( PPLToast (talk) 22:51, 15 December 2014 (UTC)

Oh no, that's awesome actually! Better to upload the much higher quality ones with transparency than do all the old ones beforehand, saves us all a bit of work - Bwar (talk) 14:03, 16 December 2014 (UTC)

Majora's Mask 3D Images

Hey there Bwar! Just wanted to thank you for the awesome work with the MM3D images, we really appreciate it :) I've been adding them to their respective pages, so hope you don't mind :p And by the way, we are currently hiring new staff members, including ones with image editing experience. If you are by any means interested, don't hesitate to let us know :) Cheers! - Chuck * (Talk) 01:26, 15 April 2015 (UTC)

Uploading Praise

Thank you for all the portrait uploads you have done recently, they look great. By any chance are you getting these images from the game yourself? Or maybe even Spriters Resource? It would be great to add that little bit of information for a source where ever possible. Either way, thank you again for taking the time to upload so many images. --- Pixel TC 14:23, 3 August 2015 (UTC)

No problem, just glad to be helping out. And yeah sorry, I should have credited TSR in those uploads. I had completely forgotten to do so when initially uploading them all, I'll try and be a bit better about that in the future. - Bwar (talk) 22:58, 6 August 2015 (UTC)
Not a huge issue, but glad you'll add that from now on. :3 I'll more then likely be going over your images uploaded soon enough, and I'll add the source then. Is it save to assume that if you didn't add a source for any of HW Portraits, it was from TSR? I want to double check before adding all that info. X3
And you better be happy with your involvement to the Wiki, cause your a huge help! Love seeing your edits in the RC, thank you again. --- Pixel TC 02:05, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
Yeah every portrait I uploaded for Hyrule Warriors came from TSR. I appreciate the compliment, thank you, I'm always happy to help out :) - Bwar (talk) 19:16, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
Awesome. And really, you've been over due for some praise. On the same note, thank you for your help on the HW Weapon Icons images project I was slowly chipping away at... You made that go by five times faster. X3 --- Pixel TC 00:52, 10 August 2015 (UTC)
No problem, I've been meaning to finish up this page's images for a while now. As far as other wikis are concerned, I appreciate the detail we go to on here to provide good images and accuracy so I'm always happy to aid in any way I can image wise. - Bwar (talk) 00:58, 10 August 2015 (UTC)

Admin Invitation

After some consideration (very little mind you), the Zelda Wiki staff would like to invite you to become an admin, and be part of our graphics team. I personally would be thrilled if you accept this invitation, as you always put out quality work, and hold the same high expectations of image quality we strive for. Being able to collaborate with you on projects both small and large via Slack and Trello would be wonderful.

Whether you choose to accept or decline, we're eager to hear your response. --- Pixel TC 02:16, 23 August 2015 (UTC)

I would love to join the team and be able to help out more! My only issue might be in the time, are there set times I would need to be present or is it more open ended? - Bwar (talk) 23:27, 23 August 2015 (UTC)
We currently try to meet up Friday evenings, but I wouldn't worry to much about set times. It's well understood that everyone has lives outside of the Wiki, and being present isn't always possible. When needed, messages are relayed and notes taken, so people can be caught up to speed if feeling left behind. :3
If that clears up all your concerns, we can add you to the Slack team and set you up. You just need to send the email address you wish to associate with your Wiki account over to Kasuto. You can use this, so you don't share it with everyone else. --- Pixel TC 03:49, 24 August 2015 (UTC)
Alright sounds good. I sent over the email just now. Just let me know what you'd like me to do and thank you so much. - Bwar (talk) 10:03, 24 August 2015 (UTC)
I've checked my inbox and spam folders, but I don't see any such email. Could you resend it? - TonyT S C 04:35, 25 August 2015 (UTC)
There we go, resent it - Bwar (talk) 20:03, 25 August 2015 (UTC)
Nope, still don't have it. Perhaps you should manually send one to tony[at]zeldawiki.org? - TonyT S C 23:38, 25 August 2015 (UTC)
Alright I sent it through email - Bwar (talk) 06:28, 26 August 2015 (UTC)
Invite sent! - TonyT S C 08:08, 26 August 2015 (UTC)
As a follow up, I see you've joined Trello, but it doesn't look like you've joined Slack. Have you not received an email from that? - TonyT S C 19:55, 27 August 2015 (UTC)
I believe I'm in there now. I'll try and be there this Friday evening to get acquainted with everyone. - Bwar (talk) 21:03, 3 September 2015 (UTC)
That's great. But of course, we don't just use it for meetings. We pretty much use it all the time to work together, so you don't have to wait until then. :D - TonyT S C 22:54, 3 September 2015 (UTC)

The Super Mario Wiki's 'Shroom cordially invites you...

Hello, I am Tucayo from the Super Mario Wiki's monthly publication, The 'Shroom. As you surely know, this February marks the 30th Anniversary of the Zelda series, and we would like to prepare something special, with your help. As a landmark collaboration between our wikis, we want to invite you to write something for us, it can be a review of a Zelda game, a ranking of your favorite games in the franchise, overall thoughts or memories, or maybe even something telling our users about ZeldaWiki! It could be anything to help us make our February issue Zelda-themed. The issue will be released February 20th, so we would really appreciate if we could have your submissions before February 13th. You can email them to mwshroom@gmail.com. Feel free to contact us for any questions you might have.

Thanks!
