The Toto Sah Shrine,[1] designated by the Trial name Toto Sah Apparatus,[1] is an Ancient Shrine in Breath of the Wild.

Entrance to the Shrine[]

Toto Sah Shrine is located south of the Hickaly Woods, behind a bombable wall along the river. As Link enters the Ancient Shrine, he is greeted by its Monk, Toto Sah.[2]

Themes and Navigation[]

Toto Sah Shrine consists of several Motion Control Puzzles, in which platforms must be rotated to create pathways to the exit. The first test Link comes across is a simple rectangular platform. The second features a suspended stairway, in which the center section slides along a rail and must be aligned with the others to create a path. The third Motion Control Puzzle features a complex floating structure that holds a sliding stairway leading to a locked room with the Monk's Pedestal. This structure must be oriented as a pathway. There is also a Treasure Chest on the structure containing a Small Key, which is needed to open the door blocking the Monk's Pedestal.

Upon completion of the Trial, Toto Sah will present Link with a Spirit Orb for his resourcefulness.[3] After this, the Monk wishes Link well and fades away.[4]

The platform connected to the first Motion Control Puzzle can be flipped upside down to reveal a stone Treasure Chest. Inside this Chest is a Shield of the Mind's Eye.

Nomenclature[]

Toto Sah Shrine's name is derived from Tomohisa Saito, one of Breath of the Wild's graphics/terrain programmers.
