"The Seven Heroines" is a Shrine Quest in Breath of the Wild.[1]
Overview[]
In Gerudo Town, Link can find Rotana studying in her home next to The Noble Canteen. When she notices Link, she wonders what a Hylian is doing there.[2] If Link instead asks what she is doing, Rotana explains that she is an archaeologist and that she was reviewing some ancient texts she discovered recently.[3] Rotana was able to partially decode the text, though she thinks she is close to completely understanding it.[4] She believes that this discovery will allow her to make a name for herself in the field of archaeology.[5] Stating that her meeting with Link is a work of fate,[6] she decides to share her research with him in confidentiality.[7]
If Link promises to keep what he hears a secret, she explains that there is a temple near the entrance to the Gerudo Desert dedicated to the statues of the Seven Heroines.[8] At this temple, Rotana found text that describes a "blessed path" being revealed when the seven symbols are in the rightful places.[9] In the path, people used to travel from all over the world to find the blessing of the Seven Heroines, but none ever found it.[10]
Though she does not know what this blessing is, Rotana thinks she will find out after deciphering the rest of the text.[11] In addition, each Heroine held a different power: skill, spirit, endurance, knowledge, flight, motion, and gentleness.[12] Rotana believes that she will soon understand the entire text.[13] With Divine Beast Vah Naboris calmed, Rotana can now conduct her research in peace.[note 1] When she finishes speaking, the Shrine Quest will begin.
At the East Gerudo Ruins, Link will find seven metal orbs scattered about. The symbols on these orbs correspond to symbols located on one of the Seven Heroines. Link must place the orbs into the socket in front of their corresponding statue, which will cause Korsh O'hu Shrine to rise from the sand.[16] After this, the Shrine Quest will be completed.
