"The Royal White Stallion" is a Side Quest in Breath of the Wild.[1]

Overview[]

At Outskirt Stable, Link can meet Toffa, who asks if he has seen a White Horse on his journies.[2] Long ago, his grandfather told him that he saw the White Horse that belonged to the Royal Family of Hyrule grazing on Safula Hill.[3] Recently, a customer at the Stable also claims to have seen the Horse,[4] which Toffa believes may be a descendant of the original.[5] He asks Link to bring him the White Horse if he happens to find it,[6] in addition to registering it at a Stable.[7] He also warns Link that, while it is a beautiful Horse, it can be difficult to catch.[8] This begins the Side Quest.[note 1][note 2]

As Toffa said, the White Horse can be found near the Sanidin Park Ruins on Safula Hill. Link requires at least two full Stamina Wheels in order to tame the Horse, but once this has been done, he can ride it back to Outskirt Stable.

After registering the White Horse at a Stable, Toffa will grow excited over the fact that his grandfather's stories were true.[13] He says that Link has made his life worthwhile.[14] As a reward, he gives him the Royal Bridle and Royal Saddle, which was handed down to him by his grandfather and custom fitted for a White Horse.[15]

The Horse Gear is immediately placed upon the White Horse, at which point Toffa recalls the stories his grandfather told him.[16] He heard that the sight of Princess Zelda riding her White Horse was a beauty beyond words,[17] and he states that the Horse Link has must be its grandchild.[18] With this, the Side Quest will be complete.

Objectives[]

Stage Description
1 Toffa at the Outskirt Stable asked you to find the royal family's white horse.

Someone else noticed a white horse on Safula Hill that had a beautiful, spotless white coat and stood apart from the rest of the herd.
Complete You showed the white horse to Toffa at Outskirt Stable. As thanks, he presented you with a royal saddle and bridle.

According to Toffa's grandfather, the sight of Princess Zelda at the reins of her white horse was more beautiful than anything else he could imagine in the world.

Notes

  1. It is possible to begin and end this Side Quest immediately by speaking to Toffa after registering the White Horse. He will be shocked by its presence and the validity of his grandfather's stories.[9] Toffa then gives Link the Royal Bridle and Royal Saddle.[10]
  2. If Link tames the White Horse before accepting the Side Quest from Toffa, he will implore Link to register the Horse at the reception desk right away and speak to him after.[11][12]
