Backwards Trailer Music?[]

Is it worth noting in Trivia that the GDC Combat Trailer features original music that is composed of Zelda's Lullaby played backwards? Hextupleyoodot 01:54, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

Sounds noteworthy to me! It was actually pretty cool to hear that... Dany36 15:18, 17 May 2011 (EDT)

Gel/Zol/ChuChu[]

That creature is in no way a gel, it is too big. It might be a zol, but according to its description it sounds like a chuchu from Tp.--Ganondox (U) (T) (C) 04:15, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Octorok?[]

It really bears more resemblance to a deku shrub than an Octorok. So are we sure that it's an Octorok? SMASHBROTHER101 18:15, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

The Miyamoto's translator at the E3 noted it as an Octorok, during the demo discussion and plyathrough of Skyward Sword at the conference. I was a little skeptical at first too. — ciprianotalk 18:27, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
Yes, this is odd! Miyamoto also said Oktorokku. Jeangabin 18:30, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
Yea, if he hadn't said anything, I would've assumed it was a Deku Scrub myself! :P — ciprianotalk 18:35, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

If you look carefully you can see that is fleshier than a deku shrub and when it dies you can see its tentacles. --Ganondox (U) (T) (C) 19:18, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Alright then. thanx for clearing that up! SMASHBROTHER101 13:52, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

Weren't there octoroks in The Minish Cap with bushes on their head? Or at least hiding under bushes? DekuLink 23:06, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

Editing[]

Is the page like...locked or something? - ZeldaMan 00:17, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

It is in a sense. Only autoconfirmed users can edit it - a user is autoconfirmed to edit high-profile pages of the wiki and semi-protected pages like this one after a time period of 30 days of activity or 200+ edits. It may seem futile to do such things, but it does work to keep vandals from messing around with these pages. If you haven't edited much and want to edit this page, look around the wiki more often and edit more to become autoconfirmed! — ciprianotalk 00:35, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
Now everything makes sense. I found funny that lock advice in a wiki that only allows registered user to edit pages =). Dany36 said once that new users must also preview their edits before archieving the 200 edits or the proper period of time. I usually preview pages as well, but when it comes to minor edits, I often understimate any possible mistake =(. --K2L 00:44, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

I don't understand what they mean by "will eventually become the Master Sword". It that still speculative? If so, shouldn't it be in quotation marks? Also, if Link has a bow, why would he need a slingshot?--Stalkid 13:03, 6 July 2010 (UTC)

We don't know, to be honest. None of us do. We can only know when the game comes out :PJustin(Talk) 21:30, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
No, it has already been confirmed that the Skyward Sword WILL become the Master Sword at one point in the game...we just don't know HOW that's going to happen. It's even sourced and stuff. Dany36 22:10, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
It hasn't been completley confirmed yet. It might turn into the Master Sword or migh be a part of the Master Sword- Ninten* (My Talk Page) (My Contributions)

Keese in skyward sword ?[]

there is a lack of info and pictures to support the fact that keese will be in the latest zelda game The Legend of Zelda : The Skyward Sword, until proof can be given that keese will indeed be in the game mention of them as being confirmed should be removed--Roxas2080 20:00, 9 July 2010 (UTC)

Watch the pictures of Link using the Whip. Jeangabin 20:52, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
"Watch the pictures..." lolwut. -DekuLink 22:43, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
English isn't his first language, Deku Link. :P Dany36 22:44, 9 July 2010 (UTC)

Hyrule[]

Is it confirmed that it takes place in Hyrule? --Snakeboss14 00:09, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

As of now, I believe that it's only confirmed to take place in Skyloft. I'm not sure if Hyrule will or will not be involved. Alter  {T C B H } 03:23, July 21, 2010 (UTC)
In one developer roundtable, Miyamoto referred to the world below Skyloft as Hyrule. Ganondorfdude11 06:49, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Lost friend[]

People you forgot to put in the "Plot" that also one of the reasons Link is forced to go there is because he is searching for a lost and valuable friend!. --Isamisa 13:12, 10 August 2010 (EDT)

Huh? I had never heard of that... Do you have a source confirming it? Dany36 19:26, 10 August 2010 (EDT)
I believe that was Majora's Mask. I haven't heard anything about that claim for SS. PureLocke(User/Talk) 19:46, 10 August 2010 (EDT)

Yes!, I have a source to confirm it here--------> http://www.zeldauniverse.net/zelda-news/aonuma-discusses-skyward-swords-formula-changes-and-art-style-new-plot-detail/ And no it wasn't just Majora's Mask ;) --Isamisa 00:38, 11 August 2010 (EDT)

Wow! I can't believe we missed that. Thank you! Seems like Cipriano already added it. :) Dany36 11:57, 11 August 2010 (EDT)

Thanks! :) I would have added it, but it seems I can't edit the page hehe :) --Isamisa 13:29, 11 August 2010 (EDT)

Yeah...we locked it so that only autoconfirmed users can edit the page. :s Dany36 13:41, 11 August 2010 (EDT)

Stalfos[]

Should this be moved to the boss section and added to the boss page? --Ganondox (U) (T) (C) 21:38, 22 August 2010 (EDT)

It appears to be a normal enemy, so no. --Wilbur 22:05, 22 August 2010 (EDT)
Even so, we don't have enough information yet about the Stalfos for this game, save for some pictures and a demo battle. — ciprianotalk 00:43, 23 August 2010 (EDT)

There is a few things that suggest it is a boss at least when you first meet them. One is that Miyamato/Aonuma said the bosses would appear in new locations. This may meean nothing, as Japanese lacks plurals. More importantly the room was locked, it had a dramatic entrance and it dropped about as many ruppees as the scorpion. --Ganondox (U) (T) (C)

New Screenshots of Skyward Sword Released in 09/29/2010[]

Hello! My name is LegendofZelda1996 and I'm not very sure if you know this, but Nintendo of Japan released 5 screenshots of Skyward Sword and there is a 9 second video of Skyward Sword footage and then, the link are below!

Screenshots: http://www.zeldainformer.com/2010/09/new-skyward-sword-screenshots-courtesy-nintendo-of-japan.html

Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Iuna_lHU9M&feature=related

LegendofZelda1996 21:45, 29 October 2010 (EDT)

Since the webmaster of ZeldaInformer is one of the co-owners of this wiki (the site itself is a "Mastermind"), yes, we have seen the screenshots and the video. It's great for reference purposes, however why they are not on the page because the images that are already there are quite similar. While these screenshots may be "new", they are not never-before-seen areas, items, or enemies. All of what is in these screenshots was seen at E3 and other exhibitions since then. Thanks for the heads up, though! ;) — ciprianotalk 01:45, 30 October 2010 (EDT)

Link's tunic[]

Am I the only one who noticed that Link's tunic in this game is green?
I think we should point it out because Twilight Princess and Wind Waker indicate that the many Links are dressed like that as an homage to the Hero of Time and since this game is before Ocarina of Time he shouldn't be wearing green! Green is the collor of the forest, he should be wearing sky-blue, or cloud-white or something!
It may be just me, a fanatic of the timeline, but it really bothers me!
Ok, they probably had to have him dressed like that for recognizablity (basically so that who don't play the games can keep recognizing him as "Zelda"), but it would have been really nice to have them try something new, with a totally different Link, don't you think?
Specially considering that I never heard anybody saying "Hey, Link's dress is so cool!" No, that's horrible, he looks so stupid!
Actually I expect something like in TP, where he's dressed in another way at the beginning, but I think they missed the occasion... Anyway, shouldn't we include some section like this?--Kombatgod 14:44, 24 January 2011 (EST)

This is interesting, but it would work best as a mention in the Trivia section. Since the game is not released, it is unclear as to the final color of the tunic - thus, speculation is all we can go off of. A mention that in the demos, Link's tunic is strangely green is definitely worth a sentence or two in that section. Good observation. — ciprianotalk 19:59, 26 January 2011 (EST)

American logo and Japanese logo?

American and Japanese logos?[]

I want to include 2 images to the Skyward Sword article, it's about the 2 logos from the trailers of the game. If you notice it, the american trailer have a different logo than the japanese trailer, i want to put 2 images of the 2 logos on the article. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by RinkuNoKen (talk) 03:52, 4 March 2011 (UTC)

While we are an American English wiki, we do cater to official art from Japan or other countries as art carries no vernacular. More power to you! — ciprianotalk 01:26, 10 August 2011 (EDT)

Golden Statue Page[]

I created a page for the golden statue boss, however I can't add a link on the page, so I was hoping someone could do it for me. The page is here.--Boomboompsh 20:15, 7 March 2011 (EST)

Done! — ciprianotalk 01:26, 10 August 2011 (EDT)

Relationships[]

NPC: The guy in white does have some similarity to the Gilded Sword, meaning that not one, but more Swords will be on the game. Strangely enough, he must be a twili, or the future Kokiri Sword.

Forest Temple: As seen where Scorpion was fought, the Forest Temple and Kokiri Forest are on Skyward Sword.

Skull Kid and Majora's Mask: There is an eerie figure in the GDC on the game, concluding that Majora's Mask was made before the 1st Link, and May be a major villian, maybe the villian.

Yeah, and as per the disclaimer at the top of the page, we'd appreciate if such theorizing would be refrained from discussion until the game is released and there is actual concrete evidence to support any "theories". Thanks!Mandi Talk 21:55, March 11, 2011 (UTC)

Spoilers?[]

Is the header really necessary for a game that hasn't been released yet? It's a Secret to Everybody 22:28, 7 April 2011 (EDT)

Oh yes, and it is perhaps the most supported placement of a Spoiler template on the wiki currently. As editors, although we generally do have a clear understanding as to what is spoiler material and what is purely filler info, side content, item inventory, etc., we aren't always sure what will or what will not be taken as "spoiler" material by the reader. This wiki is read by all types of Zelda fans, from the occasional player to the "Zelda is my life" type - we want to appeal to the lowest common denominator when it comes to spoiler information. Because Skyward Sword is unreleased, and due to the large hype around the game right now, I'm surprised the entire page isn't under a spoiler template - what has been released so far about the game is extremely plot-sensitive and revealing. — ciprianotalk 22:42, 7 April 2011 (EDT)

Page[]

The page about Skyward Sword is INACCESSIBLE to all who aren't members. Can somebody fix it as fast as possible? Wolf Link95 19:30, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

Should work now. Thanks for the heads up! Dany36 16:25, 31 May 2011 (EDT)
Yes, it work's now! Thanks! Wolf Link95 06:53, 1 June 2011

Egyptian Influence[]

The enemies that we've seen so far seem to have an Egyptian influence, along with the Beetle. Add to the trivia section? MadMags 14:50, 3 June 2011 (EDT)

Interesting. Perhaps we should wait until the game is released for a realistic assessment? Only a few items, let alone enemies, have been revealed so far, so we have a narrow view of the game at the present. — ciprianotalk 01:26, 10 August 2011 (EDT)

Antagonist[]

Even though we know the new character fights Link at some point in the game it has not been confirmed that he is the antagonist. I think the phrasing on his picture caption should be changed. --Ganondox (U) (T) (C) 19:25, 7 June 2011 (EDT)

As of the present time, it has been confirmed that Ghirahim is one of the, if not the lone, antagonist of Skyward Sword. — ciprianotalk 01:26, 10 August 2011 (EDT)

New Information: "School Drama"[]

Here's the info (resumed):

  • Link and Zelda are friends in a boarding school (when they have friends, teachers and a principal)
  • "The flying sequence at the E3 demo is Link competing against his classmates. One of them looks kind of a like a bad guy, as you saw, and he shows up in other ways in the game too, since he has a major thing for Zelda."
  • The game will explain the origin of the Master Sword and why Ganondorf appears in OoT (Skyward Sword is connected with OoT 3D)
  • Princess Zelda is not a "princess" in this game" (at the beginning most likely).
  • Similar to MM's structure.
  • New items will come (with basic items too)-.
  • Skyloft is a floating land and you'll come whenever you like.

Nintendo Power Eiji Aonuma Interview[]

This interview has some significant stuff, like confirming the harp being used as musical instrument, like the ocarina in OoT. He also hints that the Triforce will at least play a (non-central) role in the story. He also says that there will be islands in the sky around Skyloft, like in the Wind Waker. You will have to ride a bird to get there. I was going to put this in the article, but I was worried if you count it as canon or not.

(Nintendo Power August issue, pg. 18-19)

--Purlo's Grandfather {Talk||Contributions} 09:55, 8 August 2011 (EDT)

Of course it's canon, it's KEY information about the game. Please be bold and add the info in the most convenient section. --K2L (Interrogatory) 19:54, 8 August 2011 (EDT)

Possible gleeok?[]

i keep watching the e3 2011 trailer of the game and i noticed somthing at 1:20 second theres a gleeok or i'm crazy--Ruchq 14:53, 18 August 2011 (EDT)

Aside from the fact that it has 3 heads, I don't think it's a Gleeok. Gleeoks are dragons and tend to be bosses. This thing looks like a serpent (notice the lack of legs) and seems to be a common enemy. Until we get more information, it shouldn't be added to any articles. — Abdul [T] [C] [S]  21:16, 18 August 2011 (EDT)
