Timeline error?

In the references on the bottom of the page, it's mentioned that the Wind Waker takes place parallel to Ocarina of Time. However, the intro of the Wind Waker clearly refers to Ocarina of Time as being thousands of years ago. The one that happened parallel to Ocarina of Time was probably Majora's Mask. Robin van ee

The references mention that Wind Waker takes place parallel to Twilight Princess, with both of them happening hundreds of years after Ocarina on different timelines. This is based on numerous creator statements and is actually one of the few undisputed pieces of information about the timeline. Ganondorfdude11 10:30, 25 February 2011 (EST)

37 Hearts

I have an image with Link having 37 hearts instead of the 20 that he should have. Obviously, cheats were used to get 20 hearts before he should have however I think it's interesting to note in terms of how the original OoT game mechanics worked. Should I upload it? --OliverR 09:38, 7 August 2012 (EDT)

The era without a hero

What about TWW Link though? I would agree with you if there weren't any other Links in this timeline. Zeldafan1982 15:00, 3 September 2012 (EDT)

I don't see what the problem is. It's stated outright in Hyrule Historia that Link is sent back to his own time, leaving the Adult branch is left without a hero, at least until TWW. The Links in the Adult Timeline can't be descendants of the Hero of Time for that reason. However, who is to say that they can't still be reincarnations, and that Link's ability to reincarnate himself transcends the boundaries that separate the timelines? — Hylian King [*] 18:29, 3 September 2012 (EDT)
Remember what the King of Red Lions says to Jabun:
"The one I have brought with me has no connection to the legendary one. And yet I sense great promise in the courage that this one possesses."
So TWW doesn't have the Spirit of the Hero, and since Demise's curse worked so that whenever an incarnation of his hatred was born a hero would rise to the occasion, that means that the adult timeline was really left without a "proper" hero. --Dany36 23:25, 3 September 2012 (EDT)

If OoT Link can reincarnate in the AT (unlikely imo, but let's assume that it is possible) then what stopped him to do so earlier? Why would there be a difference in this case if he had died in the AT?

If Link can't reincarnate then TWW Link is a new Link carrying the "spirit of the hero". Ganondorf says that he is the HoT "reborn". The possibility (fact in my view) that a new soul identical to the one of previous Links can be created, has to be considered.

HH doesn't say that a hero didn't appear because of Zelda sending Link back. It's an interpretation that in my opinion makes sense only if Ganon's seal broke shortly afterwards, which isn't the case. Another interpretation could be that a Link did appear, but fell in the battle (along with the Knights). Ganon's invasion didn't stop, so he didn't come to be remembered as a hero. Fan Reception Clean up

The fan reception is pretty poor right now. The information is outdated and one of the links is broken. Other parts of it just feel like advertising.

There is also a debate regarding whether the game is overrated or not, with IGN editor Levi Buchanan analyzing this subject from a historical and technical perspective.

So the question is, should this section be cleaned up, or just removed? Champion of Nayru (talk) 20:28, 25 October 2013 (UTC) Champion of Nayru

Definitely cleaned up. Poor writing is no cause for removing the section altogether, if the idea behind it is solid. In this case some of it is - fans do often talk about OoT being overrated. But it could do without the bit about the game overshadowing new titles. Aonuma's thoughts on the game belong elsewhere in the article. — Hylian King [*] 10:41, 26 October 2013 (UTC)

Not sure if this is a proper topic for the talk page

We have listed on this site different glitches, fandoms (example is the shipping page), etc. I am wondering if the Uber Challenge of Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time deserves at least a mention. I know that the Uber Challene is to me, and some people I know, a huge part of this game. Dark Mirror's Link (talk) 04:03, 31 May 2014 (UTC)

The Uber Challenge is described on the Challenges page. I agree there should be a link to that somewhere in this article. Maybe a "Challenges" section that includes the Completion Records (speed runs). — Hylian King [*] 02:24, 6 June 2014 (UTC)

Changes Between Versions Section

The page states that there were only 3 different versions of the game released for the N64, but there are in fact 8: NTSC 1.0 J/U, NTSC 1.1 J/U, NTSC 1.2 J/U, and PAL 1.0, PAL 1.1. The only difference between J and U releases of the same version number is a single byte that denotes what region the game is targeted for. --Mzxrules (talk) 03:44, 24 April 2016 (UTC)
