SKYLOFT HAS A SCHOOL[]
"According to a Famitsu interview, translated by 1Up, the game's opening sections break with Zelda tradition and see Link and Zelda friends at a boarding school.
"Link, Zelda and their other friends all go to the same boarding school, and you've got teachers and a principal as well. It's a bit of a different setting from previous Zeldas," he explained.
"The flying sequence at the E3 demo is Link competing against his classmates. One of them looks kind of a like a bad guy, as you saw, and he shows up in other ways in the game too, since he has a major thing for Zelda."

The Sky and Skyloft[]
From what I know the areas in Skyward Sword are separated in two categories (First ones) The Sky and The Surface. Should there be a page for The Sky? Or should we wait until the game is released? Steahl 19:25, 10 November 2011 (EST)
Skyloftian Race?[]
I have encountered something annoying and frustrating on the Wiki. The issues of the "Skyloftian". Why the heck is this a race? There is no such race. People who live in Skyloft should be called Skyloftian. But if you go here Sparrot go to the infobox you will see the issue at work... Should we inforce that there is no such race? I am presuming that the majority of Skyloftians are Hylians but... Steahl 05:57, 14 November 2011 (EST)
- In all reality, "Skyloftian" itself is a fanon name! There is no reference to "Skyloftian" or any "ian" suffix in relation to those on Skyloft. Thus, anything we say is speculation at this point. The most we can go with is that the people that live on Skyloft do just that, "live on/in Skyloft". Pertaining to it actually being a race, they are no further described than "human" in the game itself, thus I agree with you. Personally, I think "Loftian" has a better ring to it... as more people play the game, we'll be able to more accurately attest to what is legitimate and what is pushing the limits of legitimacy. Golden Realm reference[]
I recently saw a picture on Did You Know Gaming? that pointed out the layout of Skyloft, has the same shape as the Sacred Realm (shown in A Link to the Past) if you approach from the right angle. Is this worth mentioning in the trivia?

City in the Sky?[]
A popular theory among fans (and one I subscribe to) is that Skyloft eventually became the City in the Sky. While not strictly necessary, this seems logical, given that the two locations are never shown existing seperately at the same time. Is this worth mentioning on the page? - Regarding the reversion of my edit: what is being approved on this talk page is not what is on the article. What is being approved here is "It is thought that Skyloft is the original name of the later City in the Sky". What is on the page is "Skyloft could maybe be similar to City in the Sky, possibly?". As stated in the edit comments, that's why I removed the section: no theory is being put forward, no evidence is brought up. Rewrite it to actually make a solid claim and put forward evidence, please. KrytenKoro 18:23, 13 June 2013 (UTC)
- The thing is, I'm not trying to say definitively that the two are the same, nor can we say so. I can reword the section to make it sound more certain, but any evidence we have for the two being the same is already there- they are both islands floating in the sky, and they are both populated by intelligent races. Any other evidence on the subject deals with the link between the Loftwings and Oocca, which is already covered on those pages. Aside from mentioning that connection and rewording the section a little, there's not much else that can be done. Setras 20:36, 13 June 2013 (UTC)
- Then it's not a theory. If all you're saying is "they're similar", then you can fit that in to the lead as something like "Skyloft is a floating city, bearing a passing resemblance to the City in the Sky, that blah blah blah."
