Death Mountain

The map of this dungeon resembles the map of the "Level-9" a.k.a. "Death Mountain" of the original "The Legend of Zelda" game. Also, contains lava, like the "Level-9". Also, if the map of the lower section of the level (the "jaw") is placed on top of the higher one, the new layout resembles the Second Quest "Level-9". Maybe this layout was intended for the remake of the "Level-9" that would be in the the remake of the original "The Legend of Zelda" game, the one that came to be the "Oracle of Seasons".Gomess 512 (talk) 23:50, 31 March 2017 (UTC)

Sorry, but this is pure speculation and we can't add it to the wiki. -- Hylian pi (talk) 18:36, 1 April 2017 (UTC)

Of course not, speculations and coincidences do not belong to a wiki, this stuff is only for the "trivia" section, and only a few things must qualify to be put there. I just pointed out a fact; it does resemble "Death Mountain". But we can't be sure if the developers had that in mind. However a "weak" speculation belongs to the "Discussion" page. Because someone else may provide an argument that would make the speculation stronger, or weaker, or eliminate it. This sounds like a forum job, I admit. But this Wiki contains a lot of trivia, so why shouldn't we add more of it? After we agree that some information qualifies though. (And something irrelevant: thank you for your polite way of answering, most answers I get in here are from slightly rude people.)Gomess 512 (talk) 13:31, 3 April 2017 (UTC)

I have consulted the wiki team about what Trivia sections are for. They are for facts that don't belong in the main body of the article, often times something that is not in-universe. Resemblances are usually speculation and rarely fact. As an example, I've edited a page for you. Take a look at my edit:

The reason this Trivia detailing resemblance is allowed is because it is an objective resemblance. We should not be using language like "x resembles y", we should be comparing sprites and models that are identical at the very most. It can be mentioned that skull dungeon's map is the shape of a skull in the main body, but pointing out a resemblance to Level-9 is pure speculation. The only way something like that would become fact would be an in-game source saying that it resembles Level-9 or that someone from Nintendo could be quoted saying so. Something is only a reference if we have a source. A lot of our Trivia sections are not done correctly right now, unfortunately, so please don't necessarily take them as inspiration. I hope that clears everything up.

Exactly. That's why I always leave trivia related content in the discussion page; someone who knows better what the trivia section needs or doesn't need will do the evaluation. You said that some existing trivia do not match the site's standards. It is impossible for to me to know what is what. So, I do the next best thing; I put it here. However, I have an objection here. You said that the resemblance is a speculation. I don't think so. They are indeed similar. But there is no clue that they are connected. A connection between them is a speculation. Sometimes I have the feeling that something is and isn't a trivia at the same time. As a second degree trivia, if you please. But including this kind of stuff in the main page will make any wiki look like a forum. So, an inclusion in the discussion page is more appropriate.Gomess 512 (talk) 05:37, 4 April 2017 (UTC)
Level-9 resembles a skull and Skull Dungeon resembles a skull. This does not mean they resemble each other specifically. Perhaps making another Dungeon in the shape of a skull is a throwback of sorts, yes, but this is just speculation. I would have to double check with the wiki director, but we can probably say something more objective like "Skull Dungeon is the second Dungeon in the Legend of Zelda Series to be shaped like a skull, the other being Level-9 from The Legend of Zelda", or something of that nature. This would probably belong in the main body. Sorry, but if you want to put something about a resemblance on this page, you are going to need more compelling evidence. -- Hylian pi (talk) 07:22, 4 April 2017 (UTC)
I think that you have the perfect solution! A second dungeon in the series shaped like a skull. Quick, accurate and free of loose assumptions. And as a thought, it can be applied to any other similar situations such as Moonlit Grotto and "Level-2/Moon". It is so simple that I am wondering why neither of us had thought of it until now. In any way I would like to thank you. You have consumed so much time in order to find a solution to this issue. And you were polite while doing so.Gomess 512 (talk) 03:48, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
