Not this argument again... A Terminan is a resident of Termina, not a race. A Hyrulean is a resident of Hyrule, not a race. A Hylian has pointed ears and is a race. According to the Hylian article, there are Hylians in Termina. So this guy is a Hylian, yes? --Makar Rocks 08:22, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

Whoops, I screwed up there. Yeah, I guess you're right. But a Hylian is a person that lives in Hyrule that appears most like a human, where as gorons and Zoras and whatnot are Hyrulean, so wouldn't that make this guy a human? Again, sorry about that race thing. I mucked up there. I might read the Hylian article again. ShellShockeR (Talk) 12:31, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
Man... I didn't know that. I guess I have to go back and fix some things I added the other day... Somthing that might stop this in the future is if we a location (or where they live) box to the Charater template. What do you guys think? Archon 12:37, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
I presume you mean Location instead of Race? I think we should keep race because Zoras and Gorons and stuff need to be known but probably add location too if you want. It'd be good if we could different character templates for different characters, haha. :P It's up to you guys, really. ShellShockeR (Talk) 12:41, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
No I didn't mean to replace race with location but I meant keep race there and add "Location" or "Origin" or somthing that tells us where they reside. That way we won't get the Hyruleans and the Terminans Mixed up. It's just a suggestion though... Archon 12:49, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
Most of the race pages need updates, but a Hylian, as far as is currently understood, is an 'elf' - human in appearance except for the pointy ears. The ears are the difference (although they share them with the Sheikah, but let's not get into that right now). A Hylian can be Hyrulean, Terminan, Labrynnan, Holodrumian and whatever other term referring to someone's usual location. Same for Humans, Zoras, Gorons, etc. IfIHaveTo 12:54, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

I get that but alot of the Terminan charaters have Terminan under their race. So do you think it would be helpful and elminate confusion if we added a location or origin to the template. That way it would be easier to distinguish the Majora's Mask Chareters from the Ocarina of Time ones because and Noone will change the race to Terminan out of ignorance (...like me) because it will already be there under some category in the template. Archon 13:21, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

Fine by me, but do realize some characters have multiple origins - Maron also is a girl native to Holodrum in one incarnation (and a Human too then), Link (Goron) is from both Termina and Hyrule, Gorman is both from Hyrule and Termina, etc. IfIHaveTo 13:25, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
Good point... What would you suggest? Archon 13:54, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

Terminian is the human race of Termina, counterpart to Hylian, while Terminan is any living thing from Termina, counter part to Hyrulean.Steve 17:19, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

No, you made that up. IfIHaveTo 17:23, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
Terminan and Hyrulean are also fanon names, given that, the only canonical name we are given is Hylian. However, people of Termina are not from Hyrule, or even associated with it for that matter, therefore Hylian does not work in this case.Steve 17:30, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure Hyrulean is canon, if only to refer to items or locations in Hyrule. You are confusing the terms Hyrulean and Hylian it seems - Hylian is race, Hyrulean is "from Hyrule". Therefore, Hylians not from Hyrule are still Hylians, hust not Hyruleans. IfIHaveTo 17:33, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
Uhm, no, that is exactly what I said, that Hylian is a race. An no the term of Hyrulean was never used in game, or ever by Nintendo, so it was fan created. It was common sense that created the words, as it created Terminian and Terminan.Steve 17:35, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
Hyrulean [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]/Hyrulean [6] [7]. I'd say Hyrulean/Hyrulean is pretty canon. Terminan/Terminian, however, is not, and your use of it certainly not. IfIHaveTo 17:45, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
I'm done talking about the canoniciality of things here, and I'm going to make an analogy. Say there's an African immigrant and he gets legal citizenship in America. While his heritage may be African, he is now an American. The same principles apply here. These people are citizens of Termina, and therefore are not Hylian.Steve 17:52, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
Done because I proved you wrong? And an African who moves to American may become and American, they stay black (or whichever colour). That's the correct analogy. IfIHaveTo 17:56, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
That analogy doesn't make since. Just because you move somewhere else doesn't mean your a differnt race. Steven if what your saying is true then we'd need a different name to call the Zora's and Gorons of Termina because according to your argument they're not the same as the one In Hyrule. Archon 18:26, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

Problem there is that Gorons and Zoras are called as such in Majoras Mask, but the humans are not called Hylians in the game, they are never given any name.Steve 18:47, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

So you would argue that if the Zoras had not been specifically named, we should consider them Terminians too? Or... Water-Terminians maybe? We have a description of a Hylian, the people of Clock Town fit that description. We know many of them are supposed to be Termina's version of confirmed Hylians of Hyrule, changed nothing but perhaps in name and age. Nothing changed for the other races. If perhaps fanon due to lack of undeniable statement, it is still less fanon then what you are proposing. IfIHaveTo 18:59, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
X looks like Y, so X and Y must be the same thing.
Quite honestly that is extremely poor logic. There is no evidence to back up claims liked that. Similar appearance is not evidence. There are two distinct races in the whole series that stand out, Humans and an Elvish like race. The other race has no canonical name, though "human" is used interchangably for both in Twilight Princess. As all the people are variously called by the name of the region they live in, and it varies with time. Hylian/ Hyrulean. I'm far more content with calling them elves. As that is the simplest fan name there can be for them. And when you need to give something a fan name, the rule of thumb is to make the name as accurate and as simple as possible. Matt (Talk) 19:45, August 21, 2009 (UTC)
In the same vein that you'd have African-Americans (from analogy above) even for those born in America, Hylian-Terminians sounds like the answer. Race-Nationality (or whatever Termina may be). And as Hyrulean (used in FSA for sure) refers to all of Hyrule's denizens, Terminians would follow suit. That's just my take on it. This is pretty much an all new topic to me. Teddy Bear

Im not sure what we can say about this, but in that closet, or whatever that space is behind him, has a gibdo teddy bear. I thought that was funny. Nicktheslayer 03:40, 30 December 2009 (UTC)

Feel free to make a trivia section and that on there! :) Dany36 03:44, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
