I heard that Gwonam from the CD-i game, "Legend of Zelda: The Faces of Evil" is based of of the old man. Is there any truth to this rumor?—Preceding unsigned comment added by The Keeper of Majora's Mask (talk) 20:52, March 1, 2009 (UTC)

What about

What about the famous old man from The Legend of Zelda. You know: "Dodongos dislikes smoke". All mentioning of him direct to here, which does not even mention the first game of the series!--Magnus orion 21:33, 4 March 2008 (EST)

Well now it at least mentions that game...we need more information though... Paper Jorge —Preceding undated comment added on 03:45, May 22, 2008 (UTC)
I split it off into two sections, dealing with both games, since the purposes of the old men in each game is very different. --Ando 16:25, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
Would it be worth adding a section for the old men who teach spells in AoL? They don't seem to be included anywhere else I've ever found. --Adam 18:42, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Hey, wow, I totally forgot about those poor guys. Always sitting in their basements, teaching some kid they've never met some awesome spell. I'll add them in now. --Ando 19:00, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

What other mini-games are there besides the money making game in the first Zelda? --Magnus orion 20:51, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

Well, I haven't beaten the first Zelda yet, and so when I wrote that I just kind of assumed. :P If there's not, please, feel free to edit it. User:Ando/sig 22:35, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
I don't remember any others, so I changed it... I also put in that they can take your money when you enter their homes sometimes :(.--Magnus orion 04:25, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

If the old man is actually a descendants of the sages, why doesn't Agahnim send all the other descendants to the dark world -- too?—Preceding unsigned comment added by Yoguy100 (talk) 18:39, January 26, 2009 (UTC)

Because that is not as dramatic. They went for the classic story.User:Matt/sig 21:19, March 1, 2009 (UTC)

Minish Cap?

The old men listed in the Minish Cap section of this page seems highly irrelivant, as this page is about "old man" rather than elderly people in general. I suggest their removal, but don't want to do it without permission. ZENOX T C 14:46, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

You can rmv them, I've added them here because their own page would be short. Jeangabin 14:56, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

Hylian? Or Human?

I am curious as to why the Old Man is labeled as Hylian even though there is specific mentioning of him being Hylian, especially with the advent of round-ear humans and the fact there are multiple old men in Zelda. This is most egregious with the Old Man in Breath of the Wild. We have no clear visual of his ears and I've seen this man being debated as either a Hylian, a Sheikah, or a Gerudo.Shadao (talk) 02:19, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

He might be labeled as Hylian because of his TAoL artwork. Something to keep in mind is that the page is also quite old and hasn't been extensively updated. Since the old men seem to vary between games, it might be more fair to mention both Hylian and Human and add ExpGame footnotes to denote which games that applies to. For characters where we cannot see their ears, such as the old men in Oracles and BotW, those default to Human. - Midoro (T C) 05:44, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

Would it be appropriate to list Zelda as the Old Man's daughter in the infobox, due to his identity in Breath of the Wild? Or is that best left for King Rhoam's page specifically? Whisperstar13 (talk) 15:22, 13 February 2018 (UTC)

As long as it's accompanied by the Exp Game template, it's fair game. TriforceTony (talk) 17:14, 4 August 2018 (UTC)
