Guys, chill out. No need to resort to complex solutions. It's not that complicated. First off, they're not exactly rumors. This is as simple as one word change. I doubt we'll have objections to at least this much so I'll just do it.{{:User:Matt/sig|~}} 23:03, June 7, 2010 (UTC)

::::Sorry Matt, you're at a wiki, consensus is sought, valued, and weighed for it's worth. At least it's supposed to be. Seeing this page, the challenges talk page, and a few others, I see that may not be the case here anymore. Anyway, the title is still goofy. It works for the cameos page, because the term ''cameo'' doesn't change meaning from one to the other. These unintended "myths" aren't quite comparable to the development team's myths.

::::I appreciate the sentiment K2L! I'm not really ''back'' tho. I just thought I'd suggest this awkwardly titled page to be reviewed. I should have checked the history and saw that God himself created it and it's perfect as-is. Ah well, experience tells me there's no point in pressing the issue; and any comments I make here will be met by '''Chill out'''. So I'll stay out this time. {{:User:Axiomist/sig}} 15:16, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

Revision as of 15:16, 8 June 2010

I heard once a rumor regarding whether or not you could enter Fado's house in Twilight Princess. I now understand that it's impossible, but it was a popular belief back in early 2007. I'll see if I can find enough information regarding this, then see if it can be covered in the article. --K2L 23:05, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

I remember that, sounds good. Here's something else. How about things popularly believed to be a myth, but are actually true. I recall back in the day, a lot of people believed that the Hylian Loach was a myth in Ocarina of Time. Just spinning ideas here.User:Matt/sig 23:52, June 2, 2010 (UTC)
Although that would need to be included in a separate section, in order to differentiate them from actual hoaxes. BTW, after a bit of researching, I could find some interesting information in regards of Fado's house, so I guess I can put a section about that. --K2L 00:05, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Ha, reminds me so much of that show Mythbusters. Perhaps we can have that whole Busted and Confirmed system that they have.User:Matt/sig 00:23, June 3, 2010 (UTC)
Here are some more that other folks might want to elaborate on:
  1. Unfreezing Zora's Domain in OoT
  2. Obtaining the Triforce in OoT
  3. The Sky Temple (hah!)
  4. The Odyssey of Hyrule mentions something about a pyramid in the Haunted Wasteland, but I had never heard of that: link, last paragraph
  5. Finding the Unicorn Fountain
That's all I could think of for now. Dany36 02:28, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

Obviously we'd include as many myths as possible. I have only heard of most of those and don't exactly know much about them.User:Matt/sig 02:34, June 4, 2010 (UTC)

Misleading Title

I saw this and was hoping it would be an article on actual Zelda mythos. Anyway, here's what I said in skype:

I could add so many to that, but the title sucks.... Back on NSider, we had a mythbusters type group, People wrote to us asking questions and we checked them out. Some of the funniest stuff came in too like:

"Hey guys, when I use the wishing well in LttP and it gives me a fortune of having "Terrible Luck", I always go get some more money and throw it in for a better outcome. I never knew if it did anything or not so I want you to find out for me."

The page title they have should reflect the out-of-universe style and fan generatedness of the subject: "Fan rumors and myths" or something. "Myths in LoZ" is misleading bc there's actual Zelda mythos. User:Axiomist/sig 20:34, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
The page would be renamed to Fan Myths in The Legend of Zelda Series or Rumors of The Legend of Zelda. There are options. This made me remember the humorously punny name given by TV Tropes to these types of rumors (Urban Legends of Zelda); should we copy them? XD XD.
BTW, we were missing you, Axiomist. At least I was. --K2L 22:40, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
