No, he's not. Discussion Pages like this one is where stuff like that can be.... discussed. If there's no obvious connection to an article, post in on the main page's talk page. IfIHaveTo 05:34, 23 December 2007 (EST)

King Zora

Who came up with that ridiculous idea of TP KZ and OOT KZ being the same being? First of all, I can't find that written in the interview anywhere, and the name also seems kinda odd to me. King (Do Bon) Zora The Third? What about this quote: Zora's Fountain Don't disturb Lord Jabu-Jabu! --King Zora XVI. XVI = 16. Now, maybe this number refers to the surname, but since that is not mentioned in the game in any context ever, that would seem kinda odd to me. IfIHaveTo 05:59, 23 December 2007 (EST)

I just wanted to add something about lineages. King Zora can very well be the third "Do Bon" of his dynasty and be the sixteenth king in that same line. It is just that 2 of the 15 others need to also be named "Do Bon." PureLocke 18:26, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

Wow, two years ago... but I agree and I feel this should be addressed. While I DO recall a vague quote from before the game's release saying that there would be a reference to an old character (implied to be King Zora), it's most likely in a similar sense of Link and Zelda returning in every Zelda game. Japanese, as a language, is not meant to be taken literally. It is most probably in the spiritual sense. Besides, answer me this - if this is the same King Zora as Ocarina of Time, and Rutela is his wife, then 1) where's Rutela and the prince in Ocarina of Time, 2) where's Ruto in Twilight Princess, and 3) Twilight Princess takes place GENERATIONS after Ocarina of Time, so how could the prince in Twilight Princess be so young and, well, ALIVE, with his (rather good looking) mother having been recently deceased? LinkTheLefty 19:22, 15 November 2009 (UTC)

Oracle of Ages clearly shows that Zora have extremely long life spans, the King Zora in the present is the same as the one in the past, remembering you clearly for saving his life 400 years ago (The 400 years being from a quot eof the Maku Tree).
Ruto's mother is implied to have died pre-OoT, if I recall correctly. But it's likely that King Zora remarried, meaning Rutela and the prince (Whose name escapes me at the moment) are merely half-siblings.
Now, where is Ruto? That's the million dollar question. She can't be fulfilling Sage duties, she wasn't awakened in the child timeline where TP happens. She was probably kille din the Twilight attack like Rutela was.Reign 20:28, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

At the end of Ocarina of Time, we see King Zora and Mido sitting away from the celebration, brooding. It seems to me that they've gotten the short end of the proverbial stick in this game. All in all, it seems King Zora has it a little worse, the Kokiri have hope for the future in the Deku Sprout, but check out this list of unresolved plot points they suffered. There's no way in the game to un-freeze Zora's Domain, is there? And we don't know what happened to Lord Jabu-Jabu, do we?

  • King Zora
    • Lost Ruto
    • Lord Jabu-Jabu nowhere to be found
    • Kingdom frozen over
  • Mido
    • Lost Kokiri Link (although that was seven years ago)
    • Lost Saria
    • Great Deku Tree dead (although Deku Sprout provides hope)

--Rootbeer277 20:53, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

There's more, though. Zora's domain was shown to be thawed during credits. Beyond that, it seems as if a few other characters are a bit optimistic as well.
    • Link Goron
      • Lost Father
      • No patriarch to the Goron race (or, worse yet, left with the burden of being patriarch himself)
    • Navi
      • Lost GDT
      • Sent on a traumatic journey through time with perhaps not the most competent companion
      • Lost Saria
    • Link
      • Lost Saria
      • Lost Darunia
      • Lost Ruto
      • Lost Navi
      • Lost GDT
      • sent on a traumatic journey through time
        • has a few boss battles under his belt

Okay, the list goes on, but my point is that a lot of people ended up with a really unpleasant ending and weren't sitting in the corner twiddling their thumbs in the end. I really won't know why, but that's the part of the game that gives you complex and uncomfortable feelings about the definition of Happy ending. --Stalkid (P T) 10:44, 20 August 2010 (EDT)

Can this be really called King Zora (Ocarina of Time) when we have an OoA King Zora? Dany36 11:44, 3 September 2010 (EDT)

Good question, especially since (unlike in the case of Fado) it's not possible to distinguish this one merely by one game. Mmmmmm .... perhaps you could put the MM, OOA and TP game sections in a new one named Other Appearances? After all, the KZ from those are based on the one from OOT, whereas the ALTTP one is unique on his own. --K2L 19:40, 3 September 2010 (EDT)
This page should be moved to "King Zora (sea Zora)" or simply "King Zora". Jeangabin 05:38, 4 September 2010 (EDT)
That's pretty much what I was thinking. Anyone have any objections? Dany36 10:40, 4 September 2010 (EDT)
Yep. Give me a moment to finish up my H.C. post. IfIHaveTo 10:42, 4 September 2010 (EDT)
So...what was the objection? XD Dany36 11:57, 7 September 2010 (EDT)

On the subject of the name, I just found a quote that makes his official name to be "King Zora XVI" Should we move the page? Here's the quote if you're interested. "Zora's Fountain Don't disturb Lord Jabu-Jabu! --King Zora XVI" I think we should move the page to King Zora XVI and have a redirect to it from anything similar to King Zora, that way, we'll be even more complete with every little detail! ZENOX T C 09:38, 12 September 2010 (EDT)

Whoa, I completely forgot about that quote. I support moving it to the page name instead. :) Dany36 11:03, 12 September 2010 (EDT)
There's one or two other King Zoras who are not (surely) XVI who then would be sharing the same page. And before you ask/say, no, "King Zora (Ocarina of Time)" is not the same kind of title as "King Zora XVI". One is "King Zora" with an identifier that is separated from the title, the other is "King Zora XVI" specifically. IfIHaveTo 12:40, 12 September 2010 (EDT)

Does averyone agree to move the page to King Zora? Jeangabin 04:43, 19 September 2010 (EDT)

Moving (merging?)

Ok uh, so this page was moved to King Zora (Ocarina of Time) without any discussion. Like I said, maybe we should just move it to just simply King Zora. Or maybe we should just merge the King Zora (A Link to the Past) page here as well? I know they are different kinds of King Zoras (Sea Zora and River Zora), but we don't have different pages for the Goron Elders. I don't know, I guess it bothers me that this page is called King Zora (Ocarina of Time) when we have OoA and TP King Zoras here as well. Dany36 22:39, 3 July 2011 (EDT)

Bump! I'd really like some opinions on this. Can we truly say that the OoA King Zora is the same one as the OoT King Zora? I still say that I disliked this having been moved to a different page and re-arranged all of the content without any discussion! :P Dany36 22:39, 3 July 2011 (EDT)
The divisions are confusing. If you're going to specify a game, the character mentioned should only be in that game! Maybe "King Zora (River)" and "King Zora" are more appropriate names. If all else fails, I agree to merge them. — Abdul [T] [C] [S]  22:45, 3 July 2011 (EDT)
Just merging them will do. I mean, the Song of Healing is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY too different in Spirit Tracks from Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess, yet we have both versions in the same page. Same for the Ballad of the Wind Fish (LA and MM). --K2L (Interrogatory) 22:56, 3 July 2011 (EDT)
Why was it moved to begin with? It makes no sense to specifically as King Zora (Ocarina of Time) and then go on to talk about the appearances of King Zoras in other games. Ekim 23:06, 3 July 2011 (EDT)
Good job guys. This looks realy nice. Zelda4life 17:59, 4 July 2011 (EDT)

His fat body

I don't like the scene where King Zora moves aside for Link to access Zora's Fountain. It's sixty seconds long! I wonder how many years it must've taken for him to get all the way to Lon Lon Ranch in the end.

OK, but can you take this opinion to a forum, please? Talk pages are for discussion on the subject's article, not on the subject itself. Also, you forgot to sign.--K2L (Interrogatory) 17:19, 22 July 2011 (EDT)

Possible TPHD easter egg

I think portraits of an usused design for King Zora may have been put into the Snowpeak Ruins in Twilight Princess HD, and I just wanted to know what people thought of them...The portraits show a large, very pale-faced man with either a very creepy sneer or a mustache and dressed in red, but I think it looks at least somewhat similar to the concept art from Twilight Princess on the main page. Paintings of Rutela were added into the mansion in the remake, so there could also be a connection there.

...Anyone else want to look into this? A screenshot featuring one of the paintings can be found here: Mistress Fi (talk) 04:50, 9 April 2016 (UTC)
