Talk:Items in Breath of the Wild
This page is in the improper format.
The item descriptions do not go here. The item drops, which are called Materials, are better off in the Material page. This page is supposed to be a gallery-styled page like the other "Items in ___" pages. - Midoro (T C) 22:48, 15 June 2016 (UTC)
- There is no equivalent precedent. Breath of the Wild is more-or-less an open-world RPG with significantly more items than previous games (everything already on here is from 1% of the game), and most of the items are basically disposable/consumable items with individual stats and effects. Following the format of other games isn't really going to be practical this time. The Materials article is for something different, and it seems redundant to have two items pages, so it makes sense to do things properly here. Having it in a list/table format with sortable information is far more useful to readers than a simple gallery, which currently has barely any images. I'm not even sure having an article for every item will be feasible/desirable this time. We might have to start using Section templates to an item's entry on the list instead, much like various RPG wikis handle it. --Dorsal Axe (talk) 09:10, 16 June 2016 (UTC)
I created this page, because I found it cumbersome to scroll through so many items, and considering how many items the game is likely to have, it only seems logical to start dividing pages down. I will be doing this for other sections as well. It just simply isn't practical to have one page for thousands of items, and hence I'm breaking it down into sub-pages. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Starcatcher77 (talk) 17:31, 16 June 2016
- I'm beginning to break down the item page into sub pages, don't worry. It's only reasonable with the huge amount of items that will be in the game. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Starcatcher77 (talk) 17:32, 16 June 2016
- Tony is already making sandboxes for the materials, weapons, and food lists. You may want to work with him so that all the effort does not go to waste.
