Well I might as well be the first to start this off. If we have a canon name even if its one translated from japanese. So I'm all merging the pages. --Shadow Reaper 16:56, 31 December 2012 (UTC)

Big "no" for me on this one. The two enemies are clearly unrelated and have no business being on the same page. I'd rather just see this moved to "Parasitic Tentacle (The Wind Waker)". Sucks to have to use those parenthetical descriptors but it's the lesser evil in my opinion. — Hylian King [*] 17:29, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
The Japanese names are similar, but still different. They are also tentacles of different enemies, so clearly not the same. I would suggest leaving Parasitic Tentacle where it is and moving this to "Parasite Tentacle", as that also matches the differences in their Japanese names. Of course, there would need to be a "Did you mean" note at the top of both since their names are so similar. --SnorlaxMonster 04:47, 1 January 2013 (UTC)
I like that idea. — Hylian King [*] 01:40, 22 January 2013 (UTC)
So Dexivine is not the canon name? If that's the case, I'm all for the move.Justin(Talk) 04:09, 22 January 2013 (UTC)
I'd argue that the Parasitic Tentacle's Japanese name is closer to "Parasite Tentacle" than this one. The difference in the name makes it sound more like a "parasite" being, while this one is just "parasitic". So I'm more inclined to go with Hylian King's idea, if only for accuracy. This thing is note a parasite per-se, but it's parasitic. If that makes sense. It also means people won't get confused between which is which. User:Fizzle8094/sig 13:03, 26 January 2013 (UTC)
I'm no expert on Japanese so... fair enough. — Hylian King [*] 13:10, 26 January 2013 (UTC)
Agreed, Parasitic Tentical is accurate. --Vaati The Wind Demon 13:57, 26 January 2013 (UTC)
The OoT tentacle has の after 寄生虫 parasite, which is why I was saying it would be adjectival and the TWW tentacle would be more like a compund word since it was just 寄生 parasite and 触手 tentacle. I suppose the の could make it "Parasite's Tentacle" if you would prefer that. --SnorlaxMonster 01:22, 28 January 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, I see your reasoning there too. I think it's a bit of semantics. I think it's better we name them like this, rather than giving them similar but slightly different names, though. However, we should probably move the OoT page to "Parasitic Tentacle (Ocarina of Time)" and create a disambiguation page. User:Fizzle8094/sig 03:02, 28 January 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, moving the other page to "Parasitic Tentacle (Ocarina of Time)" is probably the best option. --SnorlaxMonster 04:57, 28 January 2013 (UTC)
