Swords of Oracle of Seasons/Ages
There are four blades to obtain in the games Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages. These are the Wooden Sword, the Noble Sword, Biggoron's Sword and the Master Sword.
Wooden Sword
- Main article: Wooden Sword
Link finds the Wooden Sword, the first Sword of the game, in the Hero's Cave in Oracle of Seasons. If playing through a Linked Game, however, Link automatically has the sword at the beginning of the game. In Oracle of Ages it is given to Link by Impa. It is the weakest Sword of both games by dealing only 2 half hearts to the enemy.
Noble Sword
- Main article: Noble Sword
The Noble Sword can be obtained by completing the Trading Quest in Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons. It can also be obtained via secret passwords in a Linked Game. In Oracle of Seasons, Link finds the Noble Sword deep in the Lost Woods near the Tarm Ruins. Even though it is said to be the last item of the Trading Quest, Link can obtain it without gathering the items, as the Trading Quest is just a way to obtain the advice to get it. He can use this advice to obtain it without ever getting the final item in the sequence. The Noble Sword is 50% stronger than the Wooden Sword and has an attack of 3 half hearts.
Biggoron's Sword
- Main article: Biggoron's Sword
The Biggoron's Sword can only be acquired in a Linked Game by use of a secret password. In Oracle of Ages, the Biggoron's Sword is obtained from the Goron Elder who resides at the Goron Shooting Gallery. In Oracle of Seasons, it is obtained from Biggoron himself. While every other item in these games is assigned to one hand and can be used in conjunction with another, the Biggoron's Sword takes up both slots, as it is held with both hands. The Biggoron's Sword is 67% stronger than the Noble Sword and 150% stronger than the Wooden Sword.
Curiously, although the Biggoron's Sword is twice as strong as the Master Sword in its original appearance in Ocarina of Time, with Link's inability to use a shield at the same time as the downside accompanying this advantage. In Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages the Biggoron's Sword and the Master Sword are equally strong though the Biggoron's Sword can kill Armos with one single hit making it with the wider 180° swing the only two advantages the Biggoron's Sword has over the Master Sword.
Master Sword
- Main article: Master Sword
The Master Sword is the most powerful weapon of both games. It can only be obtained in a Linked Game.
If Link does not have the Noble Sword when he normally receives the Master Sword, he will receive the Noble Sword instead. In this case, Link will get the Master Sword from the Noble Sword’s location. The Master Sword, like the Biggoron's Sword, is 67% stronger than the Noble Sword and 150% stronger than the Wooden Sword. It has an attack of 5 half hearts and like the Noble Sword the damage of the sword beam is 2 half hearts to the enemy.
Trivia
- These two games are the only Zelda games where the swords' strengths are not whole-number multiples of that of the weakest sword.
