Stals are recurring enemies in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2] They appear in the Dark World in A Link to the Past and Lorule in A Link Between Worlds.

Characteristics

These skull-like enemies usually blend in with their surroundings, acting as regular skulls that can be picked up and thrown by Link. They will flash and begin pursuit if Link walks too close to them. Stals can also hide under grass, although this is an uncommon case. They will actively follow Link unless he can run away from them or destroy them with weapons such as the Sword. They appear to be the Dark World counterparts of Armos, due to their mannerisms.
