Sheem Dagoze Shrine,[1] designated by the Trial name Moving in Parallel,[1] is an Ancient Shrine in Breath of the Wild.

Entrance to the Shrine[]

Sheem Dagoze Shrine is located in the West Hyrule Plains. Initially, Sheem Dagoze Shrine is buried underground, though Kass can be found nearby. He will ask Link if he wants to hear an "Ancient Song" passed down in the region,[2] which describes threading two rings to reveal an Ancient Shrine.[3] Listening to Kass activates the Shrine Quest "The Two Rings".

To unlock the Ancient Shrine, Link must shoot an Arrow through two of the Stone Rings. Once this is done, Sheem Dagoze Shrine will rise from the ground, and the Shrine Quest will be completed. When Link enters, he is greeted by Sheem Dagoze, the Monk who designed the eponymous Ancient Shrine.[4]

Themes and Navigation[]

Sheem Dagoze Shrine features a single puzzle immediately after the entrance, in which two Ancient Orbs rest on platforms above a series of ramps. Beneath the ramps are a pair of Concave Slots that the Ancient Orbs must reach to activate.

Two Floor Switches on the platform each operate two tilting platforms. The left Switch operates the flat top-left and bottom-left platforms, tilting them to the right, whereas the right Switch operates the flat top-right platform and the bottom-right platform tilted to the right, tilting them to the left. If Link messes up and sets both Ancient Orbs in the same Socket, the Socket will tip forward and dump the Orbs out, resetting the puzzle.

Activating both Sockets opens the nearby portcullis to Sheem Dagoze. Upon approaching Sheem Dagoze, the Monk will present Link with a Spirit Orb for completing the trial.[5] Afterwards, Sheem Dagoze will wish Link well before fading away.[6]

A stone Treasure Chest containing a Great Thunderblade can be found behind the ramp on the bottom left. A nearby Switch activates a moving platform that moves between the Chest and the initial platform.

Trivia[]

  • In some cases, the Ancient Orb that has been correctly placed in a Concave Slot will stay slotted, even after the other Orb has been moved to the same side, causing the Socket to restart and tip the platform.
