The Rohta Chigah Shrine,[1] designated by the Trial name Stop to Start,[1] is an Ancient Shrine in Breath of the Wild. It is exclusive to The Champions' Ballad DLC Pack.
Entrance to the Shrine[]
The Rohta Chigah Shrine is located on the Great Plateau, between the Great Plateau Tower and the Eastern Abbey. It is one of the four Ancient Shrines that appear on the Great Plateau as part of the "EX The Champions' Ballad" Main Quest.
To access the Ancient Shrine, Link must defeat the Decayed Guardian and the various Lizalfos that appear in the Monster Stronghold north of the Eastern Abbey during the trial.[2] After the last Enemy has been defeated, Rohta Chigah Shrine will rise up from beneath the ground. As Link enters the Ancient Shrine, he is greeted by its Monk, Rohta Chigah.[3]
[]
The Rohta Chigah Shrine features three long corridors arranged in a U-shape. Rohta Chigah waits on the Monk's Pedestal in a chamber at the end of the third corridor. In front of the entrance to the Ancient Shrine are several Floor Spikes arranged in a checkerboard pattern. The floor rhythmically alternates between half of the spikes being raised and the other half being lowered. A climbable metal block and long metal platform lie on top of the Floor Spikes, while a smaller metal platform lies nearby. Using the Magnesis Rune, Link must create a path over the Floor Spikes. Beyond the gate at the end of the room is the second chamber.
In the second chamber are two gears spinning clockwise, which have walls covered in Floor Spikes to impede Link's progress. The first gear can easily be walked across, but Link must use the Stasis Rune on the second one, or else he will be moved into the Floor Spikes.
Past the gears are three conveyor belts. The first is moving towards Link, and will push him into another wall of Floor Spikes. The second and third conveyor belts move to the left and right, directing Link towards a rotating wall of Floor Spikes. By using Stasis on the second conveyor belt, Link will be able to hang to the right when he steps off of it, preventing the third conveyor belt from pushing him into the Floor Spikes before he reaches the next platform.
In the second corridor, three Spiked Boulder] are suspended from the ceiling by chains, and they swing back and forth over a large chasm. Link must use the Paraglider to cross the chasm and avoid the Spiked Boulders. The Stasis Rune can also be used to stop one of the Spiked Boulders from moving. In the next chamber, a Floor Switch is located on a level below Link's current position.
Stepping on the Floor Switch will open the portcullis in front of Link, but it will also open the wall behind him. This a large wall of Floor Spikes that begins advancing down the third corridor. The third corridor has a narrow walkway with small stone blocks on the path. A number of Floor Spikes connected to Launchers line the walls of this corridor. As Link advances, some of these Launchers will jut out, but the retract themselves as the wall of Floor Spikes approaches.
Further down the corridor, two Launchers will launch forward and then quickly retract, but a third Launcher replaces them. Near the end of the corridor, the narrow walkway ends and four Launchers with Floor Spikes will jut outward into the gap between the walkway and the next platform. Link can climb one of these Launchers and use the Paraglider to reach the chamber, where the Monk's Pedestal is located.
Upon approaching Rohta Chigah, the Monk will present Link with a Spirit Orb for completing the Trial.[4] Following this, Rohta Chigah will wish Link well before fading away.[5]
In the first chamber of the Ancient Shrine, there is a stone Treasure Chest to the right of the Floor Spikes. Using the Magnesis Rune, Link can create a path to this Chest, which contains a Forest Dweller's Shield
