Biography[]
Laroba is a Gerudo who travels between the East Akkala Stable and the South Akkala Stable via the Shadow Pass. She carries a Gerudo Scimitar and a Gerudo Shield.
Laroba left the Gerudo Desert in search of a man to marry.[2][3][4] To further this goal, she sizes up every man she meets to gauge his eligibility.[5] Since they are all different ages, sizes, and races, she has difficulty making a decision, though she acknowledges that she likely appears creepy to them.[6] She discourages Link from pursuing her, though, claiming he is too young.[7]
During her journey, Laroba has enjoyed meeting people from all over the world and getting to hear their perspectives.[8] In particular, she appreciates that she can meet a variety of people in Akkala, such as Zora, Gorons, and Rito.[9] She is glad that they are able to meet with each other, as they were more isolated in the past.[10] She also encourages Link to talk to the people he meets, no matter what they look like.[11] On occasion, Laroba remarks that Gorons are hardy or that Hylians are good folk.[12][13] She also likes those who can Cook,[14] although she is curious about other travelers.[15]
Laroba often gives Link tips when it comes to using Bows. For example, she informs Link that he should aim for the heads of monsters and the eyes of Guardians.[16][17] She encourages him to keep practicing his aim.[18] She reminds Link to always stock up on Arrows, especially since life can always throw him for a loop.[19] In addition to keeping an eye on his Quiver, Laroba also advises that Link carry extra Bows in case his current one snaps.[20] Laroba claims to take care of her own Bow, despite the fact that she does not visibly carry one.[21]
If Link ever finds himself in a battle, Laroba suggests that he should decide if he fights or runs based on the condition of his Weapons.[22] She also shares a rumor she heard about a rare set of arrows that are hidden deep in Hyrule Castle.[23][24]
Laroba proposes that Link set a goal to reach on his Map, occasionally checking to ensure he is on the right path.[25][26] In addition, she points out Skull Lake on his Map, explaining that he can encounter the Fang and Bone there at night, if he has the stomach for it.[27]
Laroba is troubled when it Rains, proclaiming that she will never get used to it.[28] However, she also considers it a way to cool off when she gets too flushed while staring at a man.[29]
If Laroba is threatened by an enemy, she will flee in terror.[30][31][32][33][34] While she is in danger, she can claim that her stomach is tied in knots or that she has had enough mortal peril.[35][36] Afterwards, she may comment that she likes Link's style or that she owes him.[37][38] She might also promise him a Noble Pursuit if she ever returns to Gerudo Town.[39] Compared to Link, she thinks she looks like a Sand Seal pup.[40] As a reward, she gives Link a Tough Poultry Curry.[41] On subsequent rescues, she hands out Rupees.
