The Gripshot is an item in Tri Force Heroes,[1] similar in nature to the Hookshot or Clawshot.

Location and Uses

The Gripshot functions similarly to the Hookshot and Clawshot, in that it fires a gripper that can pull Rupees, Hearts, and other items towards Link. The Gripshot's main use is to transport the Links. Once it attaches to a stake or another Link, the Gripshot quickly retracts, pulling the Link who used it towards whatever it grabbed onto. This allows the Links to cross gaps that are too wide for them to be thrown over. It can also be used to destroy Pots and bushes, stun stronger enemies, and pull weaker enemies—like Keese towards the Link who used it. Certain foes, like Gyorm and Arrghus, require the use of the Gripshot in order to be defeated. In the Riverside, wooden rafts can only be moved if a Link stands atop one, then pulls himself along using this item.

The Gripshot first appears in the Cove of Transition, in which all three Links must use one. The item reappears in the Water Temple, the Training Ground, The Lady's Lair, the Stone Corridors, Gibdo Mausoleum, the Lone Labyrinth, the Grim Temple, the Floating Garden, Deception Castle, and the Sky Temple. The Gripshot also appears in the Coliseum's Riverside, Fortress, and The Ruins arenas.

The effects of the Gripshot is improved while wearing the Robowear. This Outfit allows the Gripshot to extend much faster and further, and deal damage to some enemies.
