BotW Hyrule Compendium Frost Talus.png
This enormous monster is naturally camouflaged as a frozen rock formation. Neither sword nor arrow can pierce its frigid form. Merely touching its frosty body can leave you with severe frostbite, but you may be able to scale it if you use something to thaw its icy exterior.
Common Locations
Hebra Mountains
Gerudo Highlands
Recoverable Materials
Flint Opal Sapphire Diamond

Frost Talus is an icy variant of the Stone Talus. It can be found in cold, snowy areas throughout the Hebra and Gerudo regions. It is coated in ice and will freeze Link upon contact, making it impossible for Link to climb it normally. Link can climb a Frost Talus with by wearing a Snowquill Set that has been twice enhanced by a Great Fairy for the Unfreezable Set Bonus, or by melting its frozen coating with Fire Arrows before attempting to climb it. The rock chunks that it launches at Link will always be coated in ice. Link can defeat a Frost Talus the same way as every other variant of Talus, inflicting damage to its Ore Deposit by melee attacks, firing Arrows or using Urbosa's Fury.
