"Jump out of the way of an attack at the last moment to execute a Perfect Dodge."
— In-game description

A Flurry Rush is a recurring ability in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][name reference needed]

Overview[]

Breath of the Wild[]

A flurry rush is an ability in Breath of the Wild after Link successfully executing a Perfect Dodge. A perfect dodge is executed by performing a Backflip or a Side-Hop right before an enemy attack hits you. This causes time to slow down, allowing Link to perform multiple hits in quick succession with his Weapon in a short period of time. If Link does not hit the enemy within a certain period of time after initiating the Flurry Rush, it will cancel, and the flow of time will normalize. This assault can bypass certain defences, such as shields or invincibility. If the weapon being used during a flurry rush breaks, or if Link gets knocked back from damage, flurry rush will end.

Tears of the Kingdom[]

A flurry rush works the exact same way as it does in Breath of the Wild, although the animation for it is sped up slightly. Royal Weapons now have a special modifier to them, which increases the power of flurry rush during perfect dodge, this doubles damage of the weapons during a flurry rush. Ganondorf is also able to perform a flurry rush in the final boss fight (Although he does not perform multiple hits due to invulnerability frame when Link gets hit by it, and that the slow motion effect ends halfway of his jump). During the third phase, he even does this after Link flurry rushes.

Other Appearances[]

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity[]

Flurry Rush is an ability Warriors could use in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity to deal damage to the Weak Point Gauge exposed from powerful enemies and bosses.
