The Ceremonial Trident is a Weapon modeled after the Lightscale Trident that belonged to Mipha.[1] It belongs to the Zora Gear equipment archetype, a collection of Weapons created by the Zora.[3] Though it is visibly identical, the Ceremonial Trident is weaker and less durable than the original.[1] However, it does have the same power.[4] It is used in the Champion Festival, which was started to honor Mipha.[5]

The Ceremonial Trident is required to complete "The Ceremonial Song" Shrine Quest. If Link speaks to Trello while the quest is active, he will reveal that he dropped the Ceremonial Trident off the west bridge of Zora's Domain.[6] He decides to abandon it in favor of asking Dento to make a new one, leaving it for someone else to use.[7] Under the bridge, Link can retrieve the Ceremonial Trident with the Magnesis Rune. Then, if he jumps off the top of the Veiled Falls and strikes the pedestal at the Waterfalls' base, Dagah Keek Shrine will appear.[8] This completes the Shrine Quest.

Link can visit Dento at the Hammerhead to replace the Ceremonial Trident if it is ever broken.[9] He requires a Zora Spear and five pieces of Flint in order to craft a new one.[10]

The Ceremonial Trident is made of metal. This means that it will attract Lightning during Thunderstorms and conduct Electricity. It sinks if it is dropped in Water. However, it can also be picked up using the Magnesis Rune, and it is unable to be burned by Fire or a Scorching Climate.

Other Appearances[]

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity[]

The Ceremonial Trident is primarily used by Sidon. Unlike Mipha, who wields a single Lightscale Trident, Sidon uses two Ceremonial Tridents in combat. When he arrives in the past, he immediately uses them to protect Mipha from Waterblight Ganon's Ice flail and Cryonis formations. He continues to use them to help the heroes drive back Calamity Ganon.
