Eye Reefs

From Zelda Wiki, the Zelda encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search

The Eye Reefs are minor islands in The Wind Waker that are located on various areas of the Great Sea and are uninhabited by civilizations, but guard Treasure Charts leading to Special Charts. Each Reef has a set of wall-mounted cannons that can be destroyed with Link's own Cannon. When all of the cannons are destroyed, a Treasure Chest containing a Treasure Chart will appear on one of the large structures. Link must then fly using the Deku Leaf to reach the Chest.

None of the reefs' Warships and cannons appear until Link defeats Helmaroc King in Forsaken Fortress. The Eye Reefs, in particular the Three-Eye Reef, appear to be inspired by the Three-Eye Rock from The Adventure of Link. Each Reef resembles a side of a six-sided die.

Overview

Cyclops Reef

Item(s) Treasure Chart
Light Ring Chart

Cyclops Reef is a square reef located west from the Tower of the Gods. It has one round reef in the center, hence the name. Link must destroy all the gun turrets in this reef to obtain a Treasure Chart which reveals where to find the Light Ring Chart. Surprisingly, the chart's treasure is in this very place (although Link needs to open the chart first to collect the treasure). The coordinates of this reef are D3, and it is a neighbor of Six-Eye Reef.

You've seen those weird rings of light that appear on the seas at night, haven't you? Yeah, well, those are a sure sign that there's treasure in the deeps, fry! But let me tell you, there are some lights that don't always shine. Yeah. There are those special ones that shine like crazy, but only when you open a Treasure Chart! They say that those mark the spots where the greatest treasures are hidden!

The waves look pretty rough. Go north from there, and you'll reach my island.

Two-Eye Reef

Triforce Shard

Located east from Headstone Island, the Two-Eye Reef features two round reefs in the center. If all the gun boats and gun turrets are destroyed, a Treasure Chart that leads to the Secret Cave Chart will appear. The coordinates of this reef are G4.

A Great Fairy (violet colored) can be found on the outskirts of the reef. A projectile is used to kill the Big Octo. Once the Octo is vanquished, the Great Fairy will appear, thanking Link by doubling his Magic Meter.

Once Link has the proper Triforce Chart, he will be able to retrieve a Triforce Shard from the bottom of the sea.

I tell you, lately no one around these waters has seen the beautiful fairy who bestows magic power. She used to live here, fry. All anyone sees anymore are the Big Octos that have been appearing lately. Maybe they scared her off... Oh no! I sure hope...they didn't eat her!

Climb onto the silk roof in west Windfall to earn a discount on the Tingle Balloon! You knew that, didn't you, Mr. Fairy?

Three-Eye Reef

Piece of Heart

The Three-Eye Reef is yet another reef of the Great Sea, and is found west from Greatfish Isle. It is a large square reef with three round reefs in the center. Link must destroy all the Warships and wall-mounted cannons to obtain Treasure Chart #32. The coordinates of this reef are D1.

A Piece of Heart can also be pulled from the bottom of the sea by using one of the Treasure Charts from Zunari's night Auction on Windfall Island.

I met a really weird guy on the island due east of here. He had a pack on his back huger than any pack I've ever seen. I mean, it was B-I-G, fry! He said he was looking for treasure, but what does he expect to find in a place like that? I tell you...the guy is completely obsessed!

The Great Fairy Chart can also be retrieved here by using the Treasure Chart found in the Five-Eye Reef. This reef's coordinates are B1, and it is directly south of the Forsaken Fortress.

The Five-Eye Reef, located north from Outset Island, is a square reef with five smaller circular reefs within it. Link must destroy all the turrets here to receive Treasure Chart #41. A treasure chest containing 200 Rupees can also be found by using one of the Treasure Charts received in the Earth Temple. This reef's coordinates are F2.

Long Ago, there was this huge fairy who lived to the south of here, in the forest on Outset Island. But now, all that's left is the ruins of the fairy fountain where she lived... It's sort of sad... But to tell you the truth... I hear there still IS a fairy there. Yup! She's still alive and kicking down there, fry!

Item(s) Treasure Chart
Octo Chart
Piece of Heart

Located at the very center of the Great Sea, the Six-Eye Reef consists of one large square reef and six smaller circular reefs within it. Eliminating all the gun turrets will make a Treasure Chart appear, which ultimately leads to the Octo Chart. The coordinates of this reef are D4, directly to the east of Cyclops Reef. A Submarine can be visited in the vicine waters, Link finds there a Piece of Heart after defeating three Moblins.

They've got a shop over there on Windfall Island- a nice outdoor shop! Did you know that, small fry? And in that shop they've got this really fine safe that looks to be brimming full with riches...and they just leave it sitting outside--day and night! I tell you, one of these days that thing is going to get hauled off by a thief! Mark my words, fry! Of course, if I were to find a thief in the act of thieving, I'd stop the perpetrator right there and catch the rat red-handed! I'm sure if I did, the owner of that shop would thank me. Yeah, he'd be happy. ...That would be the honest thing to do!

You're taking a tiny ship into water that rough? Mr. Fairy, you're brave. Or... Are you just stupid?
