Dark Four-Legged Spiders are enemies in Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland that appear in the Hero's Shrine.

Characteristics and Varieties

Dark Four-Legged Spider

Dark Four-Legged Spiders appear deep into the dungeon. They appear as a group of three as if from nowhere in a similar manner to Dark Nyuudou and close in on Tingle and Teddy Todo. Although a large group, they should not pose too much of a threat to both of them together. Like other dungeon enemies, they drop Rupees when defeated. The enemies do not appear again and once defeated will not return.

Strong Dark Four-Legged Spider

FPTRR Strong Dark Four-Legged Spider Sprite.png A single Strong Dark Four-Legged Spider appears guarding the door that leads to the huge chest where the boss, Death Bug is fought. Unlike the red variety, this blue monster will not immediately attack Tingle, but must be defeated in battle before the door will open. Although it is stronger than the normal variety, it is defeated fairly easily if Tingle and Teddy Todo attack together.

Trivia

  • Dark Four-Legged Spiders, along with Dark Bats and Dark Nyuudou have a sketchy appearance, as if they were an animated drawing. They appear from nowhere similar to monsters appearing from clouds of smoke in the original The Legend of Zelda game.
  • Dark Four-Legged Spiders appear to be a reference to Tektites in the main Zelda series. Despite the similar appearance however, they walk like normal spiders and do not hop. Later in the game, Desma Four-Legged Spiders appear and behave much more like Tektites, but whether the monsters are related is unclear.
