Bonooru
Bonooru the Scarecrow lives at Lake Hylia in Ocarina of Time, and plays a large part in the learning (as well as writing) of the Scarecrow's Song. When young Link shows his ocarina to the Scarecrow, he will ask him to play a melody to him, although it can only be eight notes long.[1]
After Link becomes an adult, he can go back to Bonooru and play the same song to him. The Scarecrow will be so happy to hear the tune again that he will offer Link the services of Pierre, the other Scarecrow, who is wandering the lands of Hyrule by this time.[2] Whenever Navi flies off to a faraway spot and turns green, Link can try and play the Scarecrow's Song to make Bonooru's friend Pierre appear in otherwise-inaccessible places, allowing the hookshot to take Link to his location.
