The Bird Key is an item in Link's Awakening.[2][note 1]

Location and Uses

The Bird Key is located deep within a cave in Tal Tal Heights.[1] Unfortunately for Link, he can not access it alone due to the huge pits in the cave. He must bring back the Flying Rooster to life by playing the Frog's Song of Soul then use its flying ability to fly over the pits.[3]

The Bird Key allows Link, by inserting it into the Bird Keyhole, to unlock the access to the Eagle's Tower.[2]

Notes

  1. The Bird Key was also referred to as the Eagle's Key in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening — Nintendo Player's Guide by Nintendo of America Inc..[1] However, because it contradicts the name given in Encyclopedia, this term is not considered Canon.

  3. "Link can't leap around corners, so the bent pit in this cave presents a poser. At least it would be difficult if you didn't happen to have a Flying Rooster in hand. Command the bird to ferry you over the gap to the far ledge. Once there, you'll find a treasure worth the feathers and fuss--the key to the Eagle's Tower."
