Ancient Furnaces are Objects in Breath of the Wild.[1]

Location and Uses[]

Ancient Furnaces are sources of Blue Flames, which Robbie describes as singular places that gather huge amounts of Ancient Energy.[2] Link can obtain their Blue Flames using a Torch or other flammable Weapons. There are only two Ancient Furnaces in Hyrule Kingdom. One is located in Hateno Village, on the High Ground behind the Village Chief's House.[3] The second is found on top of Tumlea Heights.[4]

When Link arrives at the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab during the "Locked Mementos" Main Quest, the Furnace outside of it will be unlit. Purah asks Link to retrieve the Blue Flame from the Ancient Furnace, which he would then use to relight the Furnace.[1] Link will have to be careful with the Blue Flame, as he will have to return to the Ancient Furnace to reignite his Torch if he loses it. Alternatively, he can light the Blue Flame Pedestals throughout Hateno Village to create a new Blue Flame source closer to the Lab.[5]

During "Robbie's Research", the Furnace at the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab will be similarly unlit. Robbie wishes for someone to bring the Blue Flame from the Ancient Furnace at Tumlea Heights.[6] Once again, Link will have to retrieve the Blue Flame. The path between the Lab and the Ancient Furnace is lined not only by Blue Flame Pedestals, but Moblins as well.
