The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses was a concert series that followed The Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Symphony concerts in 2011. Unlike the 25th Anniversary concerts, which only played in three cities, the Symphony of the Goddesses toured various cities across the world from 2012 to 2017, with the exception of 2014.

Like the 25th Anniversary concerts, the Symphony of the Goddesses was produced by Jason Michael Paul Productions, Inc. teamed up with Nintendo.[2][3] Various pieces from the premiere concerts were carried over to the tour, including The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess Symphonic Movements. Both of these pieces form part of the new four-movement symphony recounting the classic storylines from Ocarina of Time, The Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and A Link to the Past.[4][5] The concert featured music from games that were not played at the 25th Anniversary concerts, including Link's Awakening, Majora's Mask, and Spirit Tracks.[6][7] Just as in two of the previous concerts, the pieces were accompanied by synchronized scenes from the Zelda games, projected behind the orchestra.

The concert series were divided in three seasons. The second one, dubbed "Second Quest," not only included some songs from the previous season, but also some new ones, including songs from games that were absent previously such as Spirit Tracks. Also, some of the scenes projected behind the orchestra were updated, such as the ones from "The Wind Waker Symphonic Movement" which were replaced by scenes from The Wind Waker HD instead of the original game. The third season, dubbed "Master Quest," also featured songs from A Link Between Worlds and scenes from Majora's Mask 3D. During the 2017 tour, songs from Breath of the Wild were also included.

On October 13, 2015, the concert made an appearance in television during The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The presentation featured a Zelda series medley, including music from Tri Force Heroes.[8]

Later, a book of sheet music adapted from the concert, entitled Symphony of the Goddesses, was produced and released by the sheet music company Alfred.

Pre-Concerts[]

To promote the first two seasons of concerts, Nintendo held two special pre-concert events at the Nintendo World Store in New York. These events included a mini-concert featuring various songs exclusive to them, including from games absent in the Symphony of the Goddess concerts such as The Adventure of Link. The first event was held on September 14, 2012, played by a small orchestra.[9] The second one was held on October 20, 2013, played by a string quartet.[10]

Concerts[]

The first concert was in Dallas, Texas on January 10, 2012, which sold out in record time.[11] The last concert was in Salt Lake City, Utah on December 30, 2017. At its first appearance in Mexico City on September 3, 2013, the Symphony reached its highest attendance with over 10,000 attendees.[12]
