The Tawa Jinn Shrine,[1] designated by the Trial name Tawa Jinn's Blessing,[1] is an Ancient Shrine in Breath of the Wild.

Entrance to the Shrine[]

The Tawa Jinn Shrine is located atop the eastern side of Mount Taran, above Taran Pass, in East Necluda. Initially, Tawa Jinn Shrine is buried underground, though there are three Pedestals with Stone Sphere Sockets and a Stone Tablet. The Tablet instructs Link to retrieve the Ancient Orbs from the Hinox on the mountain to reveal the Ancient Shrine.[2] This grants Link "The Three Giant Brothers" Shrine Quest.

There are three Hinox in total. The first is a regular Hinox, located in Hanu Pond. The second Hinox is a Blue Hinox, who sleeps in Uten Marsh. The final is a Black Hinox, which can be found in the Rabella Wetlands. The Ancient Orbs are hung around their necks, and can be taken either through Stealth or by defeating the Hinox.

Once all three Ancient Orbs have been socketed, Tawa Jinn Shrine will emerge from the ground, completing the Shrine Quest. As Link enters the Ancient Shrine, he is greeted by its Monk, Tawa Jinn, who states that merely being able to enter the Shrine is proof of his worth.[3]

Themes and Navigation[]

Tawa Jinn Shrine features no puzzles, simply a direct path to the Monk's Pedestal bearing Tawa Jinn. Along this path is a Treasure Chest containing a Great Thunderblade. When Link approaches Tawa Jinn, the Monk will give him a Spirit Orb for making it to the Ancient Shrine.[4] Afterwards, Tawa Jinn will wish Link well before fading away.[5]
