Official Title[]

So in my hastiness I went ahead and named this guy that "Swamp Tourist Center Manager"; however, the only in-game title ever used for him (if I'm correct) is "the guide" (by a Gossip Stone). Should this page be renamed in light of that? Embyr 75  --Talk-- 12:51, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Hmmmm...We don't usually put stuff like "the" in front of article titles, so I guess it would just be "guide." If we're gonna move it to that, then it'd be nice to have a ref quote right after the name. ;) Dany36 15:43, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
I was actually thinking more along the lines of, "Swamp Tourist Center Guide"... but maybe that's not accurate either. =\ I'm trying to be canonical, but maybe I'm confusing the situation. >.< Embyr 75  --Talk-- 16:05, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
Well, we try to stay as canonical as we can, but sometimes we have to make some adjustments. So sure, Swamp Tourist Center Guide sounds good to me. :P Don't worry too much about it. Dany36 16:18, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

Not the same person[]

The Swamp Tourist Center Guy isnt the Bazaar/Shooting gallery guy. He has a completely different model. I think he should have his own page, and rename this one to Bazaar Owner. Nicktheslayer 17:46, 24 December 2010 (EST)

Only the face seems to be different. The bodies are identical. See my proposal for this page. Dekler 15:05, 29 October 2012 (UTC)

Burly Shop Owner / split the article[]

My suggestion is that we change the title. Why? Because only one of the three men here is a Swamp Tourist Center Guide. Now there are two options:

  • We give this page a title that encompasses all three men. Seeing as they're very similar, this could work. They all have the same strong, burly body and they all own little companies. So I propose something like "Burly Manager" or something.
  • We split this article into separate pages. Seeing as the faces and professions of all three men are different, they shouldn't belong in the same article just because the same body model was used. Having to look for the Bazaar owner and ending up on the Swamp Tourist Center Guide page is just confusing. Dekler 00:31, 30 October 2012 (UTC)
Just stumbled across this proposal, and I have to agree (especially with the second point). Having the same model doesn't necessarily mean the characters should be on the same page. Otherwise Malon would share a page with Romani and Cremia, etc. We've done that for some of the pages, but usually only where there's one counterpart (and usually one counterpart is dominant). But I have to agree that looking for the Bazaar Owner and ending up at the Swamp Tourist Center Guide is a bit of a jump. These stubby little paragraphs may not look like they can support articles of their own, but with a bit of research and some clever writing I'm sure they could be beefed up. Thoughts? I agree with Dekler's first point. They're all very minor characters that are similar in appearance and role. I don't think they have potential as stand-alone articles. — Hylian King [*] 13:23, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
Bumping this. If we don't want to try to give these guys their own articles, how about pairing them with their respective shops? That could be problematic if we leave the Shooting Gallery page as it is now, BUT if we split the Town Shooting Gallery and the Swamp Shooting Gallery into their own articles (leaving a paragraph and a Main Template linking to the new articles on the shooting gallery page), we can add their managers on those pages. Thoughts on this?
If that doesn't sound good, I think there's hope to give each characters his own article. My only concern would be finding an appropriate name for each character, as I don't think they're officially named in-game. So pairing them with their shops might work better... By merging them with their respective shops we can avoid using conjectural titles, so I'm alright with that. — Hylian King [*] 00:40, 5 June 2013 (UTC)

Anyone else have any thoughts? If no one else pipes up in a day or so I might implement this. Embyr 75  --Talk-- 23:49, 5 June 2013 (UTC)

If they stay in the same article, the article's name has to be changed. Jeangabin (talk) 06:57, 9 April 2016 (UTC)
