Many people might think that he is the Deku God, but he is just some spirit of the forest that Skull Kid might have made, or he might be a spirit that feeds off of the deku power, giving it the effect of being their God. The Deku power is actually from the forest and some of it is trapped in the Deku mask itself. All of this is my theory and should not be used as concrete information.

Nah, I think Odolwa is the incarnation of that mask which was either cursed or possessed by a spirit just like Majora's.

The belief about Odolwa being the Deku's god was said in the Majora's Mask manga, so it is understandable that some choose to believe it. However, the game itself offers no actual explanation of the Deku's "guardian spirit." Davidk92 23:00, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

There's no information of Odolwa being the Deku God. The Manga isn't canon and shouldn't be treated as a reliable source of information. Yusei 23:07, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

Samurai resemblance, relevant??[]

Does anybody really think he is based on Samurai? He is referred to be a "Jungle Warrior", and so he resemble a jungle warrior. The only resemblance with Samurai he might have is due to the fact both Jungle Warrior and Samurai are warriors, and so they share warrior's characteristics. See: this, this, and this to compare. Hasn't that been previously mentioned? ChuChu Corp 00:06, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
It still has that little bit of "trivia" on the page, Odolwa appears more as an African or Aboriginal tribesman than anything, and almost nothing at all like a Samurai. For one, samurai wouldn't normally have tattoos - in feudal Japan they were used almost exclusively to mark prisoners and criminals. --KingStarscream 10:41, 12 October 2011 (EDT)

Odolwa's chants citation[]

I assume the trivia item

Odolwa speaks Mayan during his battle with Link, saying "K'iinam tòok òol," "Tòokik taali," and "A'alik beora."

originally came from this Zelda Dungeon forum thread, that I arrived at from finding a gamefaqs post (referring to the tvtropes entry) where it was mentioned that it came from ZD forums, so I searched it up. In which case, we're probably not going to get a citation for this...

I don't know why, but I kept thinking he was saying "Diablo" and "Access Denied" for some odd reason. I guess 10-year-old me was just thinking outside the box. Seeing this actually helps me make sense of what's being said. Anyways, thanks for writing this! Deku2004 (talk) 19:42, 17 October 2017 (UTC)

Tatl has (an) additional comment(s), apparently[]

Apparently, Tatl has (an) additional comment(s) on Odolwa; the one shown in his Wiki page is when done the first time. The second time, she says this: "If he starts dancing and you don't run... Well, then I really can't help you!". This is in the N64 version of the game. She probably has more comments, but I'm not sure about that currently.
