Majora's Mask Location[]

I am not sure about the name of the place where the hookshot is found in Majora's Mask. I think it is called the pirates' fortress, but I don't know if that is the correct term. If anyone knows for sure, go ahead and change it. Thanks --Gambit8585 —Message time was unrecorded by author; message posted on 05:51, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

Link's Awakening Miniboss[]

I hope I did this right... This is my first time doing this. In Link's Awakening, I distinctly remember having to fight Master Stalfos, not master skeleton, four times, not three. I will edit it now... --Magnus orion 22:21, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

A Link to the Past Correction[]

To be honest, you don't strictly need the hookshot to reach the Village of Outcasts. If you have the magic hammer, could just go to the Light World, head to Kakariko village and into the forest above it, take the first right and then south and hammer down the pegs, lift the light stone and there's a warp point to the Dark World. I wouldn't call that a glitch, so that means it's technically possible to travel to the Dark World village without the hookshot. Just saying. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ragnarok-gpuser (talk) 07:35, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

I was just about to say the same thing but it seems someone else realized this as well. I'm editing that line out. The D.K. 18:23, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

Origin[]

I have been wondering on why Nintendo added the Hookshot into ALTTP and the animations in the 3D games. I wanted to talk about this as this is the item that got me into the Zelda series. Powerman315 (talk) 05:39, 6 July 2022 (UTC)

Well, there's probably not a whole lot interviews or quotes about the development behind the Hookshot, but there may be something. I'm just guessing that someone had a grappling hook idea, but something like the Grappling Hook in The Wind Waker might have been a bit too advanced for an early game like ALttP, but a straight shot was easier to code so they went with that instead. Of course, this is entirely speculation, and I don't know anything that actually happened. If you do happen to find something in an old interview somewhere, we can definitely add it into the page somewhere!
